Description
Mad Fox Brewing Company launched in July 2010 with the opening of our European-style Gastro Brewpub in Falls Church, VA, which also houses our brewery.
In August 2015, the Mad Fox Taproom opened in the Glover Park neighborhood of Washington, DC. We're proud to provide a unique dining experience that pairs our handcrafted, award-winning beer with an appealing menu created in a scratch kitchen using locally-sourced and sustainable products whenever possible. All of our craft beers are brewed on-site using the finest ingredients sourced from across the country and internationally as well. Taste the difference with our appealing brewpub menu featuring hand-tossed artisan pizzas, creative burgers, signature frickles, weekly specials and more. Our 63-foot bar serves as the centerpiece of the brewpub where we showcase up to ten standard, house-brewed draught beers on tap as well as a rotating selection of seasonal brews in German, English, Belgian and American styles. Taste our cask conditioned proper Real Ales served through water-jacketed Angram beer engines which ensure that every pint is served at properly conditioned cellar temperatures.

Deep hazy orange coloured body with a rich, two centimetre tall just off-white head. Amazing aroma of resinous, piney and super citrusey hops with more orange and citrus flavours coming out than iβve ever noticed - even on a real beer from San Diego. Medium-bodied; Biting hoppiness with the citrus, resinous and herbal flavours all noticeable as well. Mild bready and yeast characteristics still show through and a bit of caramel malt still balances things out nicely. Aftertaste is focused around the hops, naturally, with a little sweetness of oranges and tropical fruits, some light earthiness and a mostly herbal and resinous finish - very nice and hoppy, of course! Overall, a nice west-coast inspired IPA that is executed well and the citrus notes are impossible to ignore! I sampled this from a growler purchased from the brewpub in Falls Church, Virginia on 03-February-2014 after a hockey game on 06-February-2014 - thanks JP!

Draft at the brewpub. Pouered a very light hazy yellow-orange color with a small, wispy white head (friend had more of a head on his). Aroma was some light funk, light lemon peel, mild citrus and tropical fruits. Nice funky character, easy to drink - spices are quite bold but not overpowering.

Poured a hazy orange color, very small head. Was some light hops, but mostly wine barrel with some light funky cheese notes. Started off a bit like cheddar, not very pleasant, but the funky wine notes beat out the other aromas and win the day. Flavor is nice wine notes, some funk, with a nice light undercurrent of citrus.
