Can, from Ølbutikken. It looks quite nice in the glass, clear, amber body and a cute dense, beige head. The aroma is mostly spiced, with lime and coriander, sort of saison-ish in one way, dubbel-like in another way with its dried fruits and toffee. Nice bitterness in the mouth, not as spiced as the aroma, as the toffee and dried fruits are. Full-bodied and pleasantly carbonated. The finish has lime, coriander, toffee and dried fruits, as well as some bitterness. A quite lovely and unusual beer, uncommon is maybe the best word... duh! 100827

Location: 16 oz can from Harold Dieterle's new place: Kin Shop, 11/30/10
Aroma: The nose has notes of Belgian yeast, spice, lime, lemon, and grass
Appearance: It pours out of the can a cloudy amber color with frothy off-white head
Flavor: It has a lot of spicy yeast in the flavor, some sweetness, a little tang, and some bitterness
Palate: The body is medium with an interesting mouthfeel, the booze is well hidden as well
Overall Impression: This was the first thing I've tried from Uncommon Brewers, and it was pretty interesting stuff. It does, in fact, pair rather well with Thai food (as it says on the label). I liked what they were trying to do here, this one is worth trying.

Draught@SBWF2010. Very deep rubyish amber colour, close to black. Aroma is liquorice, some mild toasted notes along with chocolate and some slight spices and ashes. Flavour is quite similar with also some quite bisquity notes. Also the alcohol shows a bit.

(Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival, 2 Oct 2010) Dark brownish amber colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with apricots, orange and hints of smoke. Malty, fruity taste with notes of dried fruit, apricots, caramel and hints of smoke. Gentle spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, fairly sweet. The bacon part is a bit toned down, but it’s still a nice and tasty beer.

Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival. Near black, small head. Interesting flavour with roasty licorice and cocoa. Mid sweet and surprisingly slim with clean rounded mouthfeel. Somewhat vinous with flavours of crackers and aniseed. Some herbal bitterness. Unusual, still well balanced and really tasty.
