5/4/2018. Bottle from Inn at Home, Guildford. Pours hazy amber with a large foamy white head. Aroma of raspberry, raspberry ripple ice cream, hops and chocolate. Moderate sweetness, light bitterness, light sour. Light body, slight oily texture, soft carbonation.

Keg, Onslow Arms, West Clams in. Hoppy slightly spicy aroma. Dark amber. THIN WHITE head. Light bitter. Some rye spice. THIN. Slick. Flat. Abrupt. Easy sunshine drinking.

From cask. Pours brown, deep amber glare. Small brown head. Aroma is breadish and roasted malt. Bitter, roasted, dark breadish and malty. Lingering toffee and breadish roasted malt finish.

Bottle bought at the brewery. Feint spur edged malty aroma. Muddy amber brown. Tonnes of sediment floating around in it. A few traces of off-white head around the rim. Was going to check my review for the original version - seem to remember it was bland - however this has gained a sweetness with underlying booze. Fruit syrup, liquor. Gets more sugary. Thick bodied. Oily. Flat carbonation. Long finish - slightly medicinal. Suspect that this may disgust some people. The aftertaste diminishes things but I enjoyed it as a sipper. Oh yeah, that sediment is really off-putting.

Bottle from Inn At Home, Guildford. An earthy coffee, chocolate and liquorice aroma. The bottle cap really blew off when I opened It's followed by a slow release of foam - unsurprisingly this resulted in a large foamy head. Otherwise It's jet black. Very bitter. There's some coffee and berries in there but over this It's just really tart and quinine. Boozy aftertaste. Thick bodied. Oily. Fizzy carbonation. Relatively abrupt finish, other than the aftertaste and astringentness. Ithough that the original Sweet Stout was basic, benefiting from its bitterness . This remains basic but the iced element amps up the bitterness so It's just overpowering. This one of the Iced Range just doesn't work for me.

Bottle from the brewery. I was expecting more booze - the aroma is of prunes, figs, basement - low key. Dark opaque brown, with ruby hints. White head just around the rim. When held up to a light the floaters become apparent. Medium sweet, sugary, with stewed fruits. Underlying bitterness. Full bodied and sticky. Average carbonation. Long finish, a tad astringent. Wouldn't want to drink this quickly or have another because it's so sweet and thick. But I think it works. Was going to add it as an Imperial Pils/Strong Pale Lager, however for me it's got to be closer to an Eisbock.

Bottle from Inn at Home, Guildford. Pours mahogany brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of biscuit, malt, berries, hint of smoke and wood, hop and toffee. Medium sweetness and moderate bitterness, very slightly sour, Medium body, oily texture, average to soft carbonation.
