33 cl. bottle sampled @ Brugs Bier Festival 2013. The first one was bit of a train-wreck honestly I feel but this one is quite lovely, carbonated even & gives me faith in Jenever barrel aging. Murky brownish appearance with a white head. Nose is overripe fruits (in a fine way), caramel, toffee sweet with sweet spices, light herbs plus booze. Taste is wooden barrels, herbal, sweet spices, caramel & touch of toffee, sweetly malty, accompanying booze taste – the Jenever I presume, dried fruits, sugar. This one has good carbonation. Wow they learned & improved quickly. Impressive, kudos.

Sample @ Brugge Bierfest ’13 Brune foncée, trouble, col beige fin.

Small, yellowish head over fully hazy, copperish tinted dull amber beer. Spicy, herbal nose; bit of melanoidins. Dry, woody character. Some melanodins, bit of cocoa powder. Sweet, certainly warming up. Hints at alcohol. Quite slick, not viscous. Feels better carbonated than it looks. Decent, if not spectacular.

Aliasbottle thx to benzai. Hazy golden colour with a huge white head. Smells malts, fresh, grassy, slightly banana, herbs. Tastes malty, fresh, slightly iron, herbs, slightly grassy. There are so many beers just like this. It’s decent but doesn’t have unique features. Medium body, great carbo.
