33cl bottle, BB 11/2014, gusher, lost 1/2 the bottle and found a hop cone. Great gimmick. Orangée moyen, col fin beige disparaissant vite.

33cl bottle @ home. Clear dark golden color, full sized white to off-white head that leaves fair lacing. Smell malts, some fruits, slightly herbal hoppyness. Taste malts, slightly sweet, lightly herbs and lightly some fruits towards the end. Medium a bit fizzy carbonation, medium body. Decent brew.

Deep, super dark brown coloured body with a violet and ruby tinted glow when held up to the light. Thick, three centimetre tall soapy light brown head that explodes from the bottle when opened, but fades fairly quickly. Aroma of tons of caramel, pit fruits, toasted malt, peanuts, earth, pipe tobacco and even some soy sauce and mushrooms. Medium-bodied; Earthy maltiness with a ton of sugars behind showing dates, figs, raisins, concord grapes, peanuts and a bit of lighter chocolates. Aftertaste shows some complexity with the chocolate and sweet notes front and centre with a little earthiness, yeastie qualities and a hint of peat at the tail end. Overall, a nice complex beer with a ton of various flavours from brown sugar to peat to pit fruits and of course yeast and malt - all showing some serious alcohol. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Bier Tempel in Bruxelles, Belgium on 02-January-2011 for €2,50 sampled at home in Washington on the other side of the pond on 20-October-2012.

4/X/2012 - 33cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ home - BB: 4/IV/12 (2012-1103)
Clear blond to orange beer, big crackling rocky head, keeps on growing, very stable, bit adhesive, lots of carbon pearling in the glass, more than a Duvel! Aroma: lots of white candi sugar, orange peel, coriander, some ginger bread. MF: lots of carbon, light to medium body. Taste: bit sweet in the start, sugary, some citrus, bit grassy, slightly bitter. Aftertaste: quite some banana, sugary sweetness, bit yeasty, little bitter. Highly uninspired and boring beer, not what we're used from Sint Canarus.
