Very good, just yellowish head, fast receding over veiled orange-golden beer. Banana- and bubblegumnose, and other yeastesters. Neutral to light-sweetish, bit toasted, to nearly roasted taste. Dried orangepeel powder, again yeasty. Feels very carbonated, CO² very obvious. Gives the impression of still being in fermentation, albeit in the final stages. The unique label tells us: "Anno 2008". If it were really brewed then, one probably couldn’t sell it any longer. Then "De Pinte". That’s a town in richer Gent’ suburbia. Then: "Het echt Pints biertje". Wow. That’s an outright lie. It is supposed to be brewed in Gottem, but even that is probably not true. Hijfte near Lochristi, anyone? 33cl, alcohol 7.5%. Ah, finally something positive and substantial. And then... nothing. So - next to nothing, and amongst that, even lies. Oh, yes, the cap tells us the BBDate. Hooray. And to top it all, it’s not even an original beer - but a labelbeer, kind of, but we don’t know from which. If it’s St. Canarus tripel... see Lochristi. The beer is quite OK, but I’m disgusted all the same!

Very good, dense, just off-white head over clear light-copper, big-bubbled beer. Sharpish malt & alcoholnose; some garden herbs. Pale malts sovereign. Bitterish & sweet-alcoholic. Sharp toasted backthroat, dry grain. Well-carbonated, slick, medium bodied; bit sharpish feel, long-lasting flavour. Despite the serious alcoholimpression, it drinks away fairly easily - making it all the more dangerous.

Pour is a cloudy brown with a large tan head. Aroma is some dark fruit and loads of brown sugar. Flavor is some sugar, figs and butterscotch. Finish is sweet sugar and some plum. Lots of carbonation with this beer. But it is still a very flavorful Belgian dark ale.

Pour is a murky yellow with a small white head. Aroma is faint fruity esters and not much else. Flavor is a little fruit but mostly its just a dull malt. This may be one of the worst triples I’ve had from Belgium. Flavorless and boring.

8/VII/2012 - 33cl bottle from Willems (Grobbendonk) @ Erwin's place - BB: 10/I/14 (2012-704)

Little cloudy blond beer, big rocky off-white head, pretty stable, continuously fed by a lot of small bubble streams in the glass, little adhesive. Aroma: very fruity, citric hops, bit of cleaning product, soapy. MF: lots of carbon, medium body. Taste: citric start, little sugary, grassy hops, gentle bitterness, some spices. Aftertaste: little soapy, candi sugar, little bitter.

Fast gone, rathre transparant and quite irregular head, fed by finely carbonated metallic orange, coldhazed beer; end of bottle solid yeast. Bit agressive herbal/vegetable nose, nearly insectoid; "hard" or young esters. Probably white candi sugar. Better balanced flavour, with citrus, citruspeel, toast, herbal. A bit oxydized malts, but in no way as far as off-flavour. MF remains fiery to agressive still; not very well-bodied, seems more well attenuated. Finish is a tad meagre. Pretty well-carbonated. Absolutely nothing wrong with it, but I wonder where the discovery, the novelty is, in this beer?

Zythos Bierfestival 2012, Leuven, Belgium. It pours a still mahogany with copper edges. The aroma offers up molasses, crispy dried caramel and rich brown sugar covered cherries and plums. Behind those notes are smooth sweet barrel notes. The taste has some brown sugar mixing with cherries and solid yummy woody earthiness that pulls this thing all together. Good tasting stuff.

Pours deep cloudy gold into a tulip. White head with excellent retention recedes leaving spot lacing. Caramel, bread and fruit aromas. Dry with bread, hay and caramel upfront turning to earthy bitter pepper in the lasting finish.
