Pours a copper colour with a beige frothy head that last a while, but does not stick to the glass much. Mild beautiful aromas found in a Belgian ale with soft spices and yeast. Medium-bodied. Roasted malts that taste more sweet than burnt with notes of bananas in the finish. Pretty cool that they use wild harvested bog myrtle instead of hop. Nice and easy drinking spicy ale, but does not warm up much for those winter day (or nights). Still, a pleasant different brew that is mild overall (which it was stronger in all aspect).

Bottle: Poured a clear medium amber color ale with a nice foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of light dry floral hops with semi-sweet caramel malt notes. Taste is a mix between some light floral and somewhat dry hops notes with a semi-sweet caramel malt backbone. Body is a bit thin for style with good carbonation. Lacking some hops punch and body is a bit too thin for the style IMO but still enjoyable nonetheless.

600mL bottle from the LCBO. Poured cold, a murky dark brown with a fine 1.5cm whitish head, not as frothy as some German versions. Aroma sweet, dominated by banana and caramel malts, just a little roasted. Also some bready yeast and spices, a little clove. Taste is dark malt and fruit, banana especially, a little spice, a woody note, fairly dry finish. Medium bodied, very soft carbonation but not as creamy as it could be. A little more dubbel-ish than German versions I’ve tried, prefer a Weihenstephan but this is a good effort.

Another good beer from Beau’s. This one smells simply malty. THe taste has a sour mash feel to it. Carbonation is good and consistent. with a lasting head. Good murky pour. There is citrus and a taste of honey I can detect on an empty stomach. Good, but the dark side (Mr. Hyde) is better. Bottle at castro’s

Smells of honey. Taste is bitter with a little sourness and a light touch of honey. Strong malt flavor. A really well-crafted, interesting beer. Bottle at Castro’s.

High malty smell with a little hops. A little character that gives it points over an average ipa but a little light on bitterness. On tap at volos

Canada: Pours a copper color with a white head. Aroma is weak and dominated mostly by malt. Taste is forgetable. The so-called citrus hops infusion barely does anything for it. The English malt profile is not particularly exciting either. The body is what it is. I was bored by this beer and drank it as quickly as possible to move onto my next beer. This beer is kind of mEh. Oh yeah and it’s organice, but I don’t really think I care.

An orange amber DIPA with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, a nice smooth grassy hops profile, piney and resinous, with light cloves and honey malt. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with resinous bitter piney hops, sustained grassy bitterness, intense and challenging, very nice. On tap at Wellington Gastropub, Feb. 23 2012, 8$ a pint.
