Cask (gravity) @ Hop Pole Inn, [ Hop Pole Beer Festival & Aylesbury Brewhouse Grand Opening 2011 ], 83 Bicester Road, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, England HP19 9AZ.Clear medium amber brown colour with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, bread, caramel, light hoppy, sweet fruit, sour fruit. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20111204]

Bottle thanks to Dutchdrebus. Very dark brown color, small beige head. Aroma has something really weird in it. Don’t know what to think really. Weird. Taste malts, some oak, a light sourness. Medium body, thin texture, ok carbonation.

Bottle @ home. Muddy black with no real head. Smells slightly sour, red fruits, oak. Tastes red fruits like cherries, oak, woods, chocolate in the aftertaste. I can’t find the whisky though. Thin to medium body, soft carbo.

Poured a clear yellow straw colour with a thin white broken head, broken lace and high carbonation. The aroma is peachy, leading to a medium bitter, malty slightly zesty flavour with some fruity notes on the palate and a mild bitter lingering aftertaste. A very drinkable summer session beer served cool.

Bottle from Sainsbury?s. It pours golden yellow with a medium white head. The nose is zesty lime, lemon, sherbet, pine and floral notes. The taste is straw, pithy lemon, lime, sweet pale malt, soap, soft pine, floral and light bitterness with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Decent.

On cask at New Barrack Tavern, Hillsborough - Pale yellow body with thin head.Aromatic,a bit floral and hoppy in the nose. There is a flowery taste, a bit buttery, a bit disappointing and not for this time of year. Okay, I guess.

Cask at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham Green - 15/12/12. Dark mahogony brown with a decent frothy tan head that retains well. Nose is light malt, some chocolate and toffee. Taste comprises light roast malt, chocolate, mineral tones. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Ok - nowt special, touch above average.
