Cask (5.6% ABV) at The Douglas Arms Hotel. Clear amber body with a dense off-white head. Good lacing. Aroma of nuts and dried fruit. Flavour of caramel and a peppery finish. Thin to medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Soft carbonation prickle. A nice, uncomplicated beer.

0.5 l bottle from 'Bier & Beer', best before May 2018. Clear, deep reddish amber with a medium large, foamy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, quite herbal-grassy, slightly fruity-resiny and a bit floral aroma of caramel, raisins, tea leaves and orange jam. Quite sweet, malty, moderately bitter, fruity, herbal-grassy and slightly resiny taste of caramel, tea leaves, orange jam and raisins, followed by a short, moderately bitter, herbal-grassy and slightly resiny finish. Almost medium-bodied, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Pleasant, classic Bitter, highly drinkable and very sessionable.

Vom Fass im Winking Owl Aviemore 2017-09 getrunken. Trotz des leichten Körpers hat dieses Stout feine Schokolade und Kaffeearomen. Ein echt süffiges Bier.
