Bottle from Morrisons, Inverurie. It pours clear rich deep brown with a lasting fluffy off - white head. The aroma is rich, nutty, bitter - sweet, jammy berry, raisin, sultana, toasted fruit cake, touch of marzipan, molasses, malt loaf, vanished wood and toffee. The taste is firmly dry, bitter, robust woody character, nutty, light tannin, leather, some warming spice, ryvita, resin, sappy, raisin, sultana, toasted fruit cake and pleasing touch of alcohol warmth with a dry, woody finale. Fulsome body and moderate,. fluffy carbonation. This is a very well done big robust strong bitter. Would love to try it in cask.

0.5 l bottle, thanks to my family. Pours deep golden with thick head. Nose is grains, fruits and spices. Taste follows the aroma with short fruity finish, the beer has light body and average carbo. A bit dull, but quite refreshing.

0.5 l bottle, thanks to my family for this. Pours clear deep golden with thin, quickly disappearing head. Nose is weak lager-like bittersweetness. So is the taste with no distinct notes, closes with short bitterish finish. Light bodied with lively carbonation. Feels like a pale lager, not quite good.
