Description
The Hecks family have been making traditional farmhouse cider in Somerset for six generations, since 1841.
In 1896, we started to sell our cider from our farm shop in Street.
We make our cider by blending juice from apples all grown locally in the farm’s orchards. The cider is fermented in wooden barrels and sold draught from the wood.

Pint, hand-pulled at The Pheasant, Wellington Shropshire on 5th Jul 2021. It isn't black at all, but it does taste of cider.

75cl bottle from Hecks Cider Farm on our recent Somerset trip. Pours a hazy golden yellow. Aroma of perry fruit, funk, wild orchard. Taste presents an interesting characterful blend, some woody notes, softly sweet with some mild orchard funk notes and gentle bitter moments. Lovely SV perry.

1 litre tub from Hecks Cider Farm. Clear gold, farmhouse orchard aroma. Presents quite a biting foxwhelp presence to taste, really showing its character well with some mild sour notes. Good stuff.

75cl bottle from Hecks Cider Farm on our recent Somerset excursion. Misty golden orange appearance. Lovely sweet apple fruit aroma, continuing to taste, relatively light bodied and great drinkability. Excellent keeved cider, just like drinking a good French doux.

Taste is sweetish, fruity apple, fleshy, liquorice note, with lots of drying tannin. Medium bodied, light carbonation, dry tannic finish. Nicely drinkable.

75cl bottle from Hecks Cider Farm. Misty pale yellow appearance, aroma has funk, cat piss and faint lemon curd. Continues to taste with a noticeably thin, crisp, dry palate .. some wild floral elements, with curious perry fruit coming through. Fine spritz, light dry finish.
