A deep dark stout with a creamy brown head. In aroma, sweet nutty chocolate malt with light grassy hops, light mineral notes, nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with light nutty notes, light coffee, light bodied but pleasant. Can from Whole Foods in SOMA, SFO.

~12 oz goblet draft at California Craft Beer in Fremont, California. The pour is a slight haze golden with a small white head that leaves behind nice lace. The aroma is faint orange citrus and not much else. The taste is clean with soft floral orange citrus along with a bit of cereal malt in the back. The palate is light to medium bodied with soft carbonation and an herbal finish. Easy drinking Pale Ale.

Can from Trader Joe's in Davis, CA. Pours translucent citrus with a foamy/bubbly/transient white head. The aroma is that cooked thing. Flavor is quite citrus. Cooked is barely in it. Mildly roasty malt. Fairly dry, moderately bitter. That cooked aspect drags it down from say 3.7 to 3.4 or so. Drinkable. Especially at this ABV. Beach/pool/lake beer.

Can from Total Wine in Roseville, CA. Pours dark brn/blk with a small tan head. Mild, almost milky, chocolate aroma. Med body or a bit less. Flavor is dry, earthy not totally dark chocolate. It's a nice flavor. No carbonation prickles. Just earthy chocolate.

Can from Trader Joe's in Davis, CA. Pours slightly hazy gold with a foamy white head. Aroma is dryish citrus. Touch of melon. Med body sorta kinda. Flavor is sort of oaty/wheaty with citrus and arguably melon. It's dry. Moderately bitter. Very good session ale. Tho the flavors aren't so strong as some session IPAs, this may be a good thing. More balanced.

Can from Citysuper at home after J+P’s new place. Slightly translucent yellow golden pour. Slightly sticky lacing and sudsy white head. Aroma is biscuity malt, earthy English-style hop profile. Taste is somewhat similar - more assertive. Quite bitter and earthy up front, honey and biscuit malt, some sweetness. Lasting bitter bite. Interesting. Not to my taste but well executed unusual IPA.

Can from Citysuper at home before leaving for Toronto. Bought on a whim thanks to goufcustom’s high rating. Pale golden pour. Minimal white head. Aroma is earthy sharp hops, pilsner malt. Taste follows. Straightforward but good pale ale with an earthy pine hop profile and pils malt. Smooth light palate. Crisp finish with some pine. Not bad.
