On tap at some touristy Asian place. Pours standard yellow but huge creamy white head that really lasts. Taste pretty bland og grain, grass, metal, light bitterness.

Another can smuggled in country by my sister in law, thanks Terry! Pours a crystal clear pale golden color with a huge fluffy white head that shows moderate retention and some lace. Smells grainy and a bit sweet with malt. Smells like a PBR if you asked me. Taste is a bit sweet with a grainy malt edge, light pomme fruit, floral hops provide enough balance, but leave little flavor behind. Medium to thin body with a spirited level of carbonation and a sweet grainy mouthfeel. Very clean, nothing objectionable here, but nothing exciting either. If I had a hankering for some pale lager and I was in Japan I might reach for one of these, but its certainly nothing I would go out of my way for.

Another can smuggled in country by my sister in law, thanks Terry! Pours a deep clear golden color with a nice bubbly bone white head that slowly recedes after sticking some lace. The aroma is very weak. Faint grain with sweet malt and floral hop and skunk. Taste is sweet and grainy with a hint of spicy earthy hops. Light honey and green apple flavors in there as well. Light body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet watery mouthfeel. This one is actually not to bad. A bit thin and lacking pizazz but I actually tasted hops for a second there and that can’t be a bad thing.

Can in Hong Kong. Some small foamy head and a very slightly darker yellow than usual for a lager. soft cardboard & grass aroma. flavour is a light cardboard and bread with a dry finish. It’s some kind of variation on a bad lager that makes it slightly better than many Asian lagers, but still pretty darned bad.

Originally rated November 2005. Bottled on June 20th, 2005 and says on label, freshest taste within 180 days. Also says brewed under the strict supervision of Kirin’s brewmaster by Anheuser-Busch in L.A. Pours a light yellow with a small white foamy head. Decent lacing and tiny bubble soft carbonation. Smells the fresh malt with some grain. Smooth mouthfeel with a refreshing finish. The taste is mild with malt and very slight grass. Plain old lager, just refreshing. Probably A-B’s best brew (because of strict supervision).

On tap at a restaurant in London. Similar to the other light lagers from kirin. Password is: light. Light yellow colour with a nice white head. Light sweet taste and and a light hoppy aroma. Good carbonation.
