A dark golden beer with a fast disappearing head. It has a very faint malty aroma. It''s not sweet but has a nice bitternes of a nice hop. A standard japanese pilsener.

A dark gulden beer with a fast disappearing head. It has a malty aroma and a slightly malt sweet and slightly bitter taste. A very standard pilsener - but good for a japanese beer - it has more flavor than the standard japanese beer.

The draught version was better, which isn't really saying much. Tastes like what it is, A-B's version of an Asian lager. Blah.

Nother one of the special crap lager series to join red stripe, kingfisher and the like. nothing to say, fizzy, pale, bland, no hint of a complex taste whatsoever.

The bad thing about living in Norway is the price of beer. The good thing, however, is that those of us who live near the coast and have a small boat (yes, like me) can catch our own seafood - for free. Today's freshly caught crab was my chosen accompaniment with Kirin lager - a good choice, I believed, as the Japanese love seafood more than anyone else in the world. I'm sorry to say that most European pilseners / light lagers would have been a better choice than this one. There is very little aroma, the beer is dry (which is a good thing when you have it with seafood) but some more flavour would have been good too! - aftertaste is metallic. Surely the Japanese can do better than this??

A clean, well made lager. As with the Ichiban, goes great with sushi and other Japanese cuisine.
