Soft grassy aroma, not disgustingly strong like most cheap beers. Yellow in appearance, with a small head. Some bubbles rising to the surface. Flavor is small, grassy, and sweetish. Not bad, actually. But nothing I’d seek out again.

Bottled (brewed by Charles Wells, ABV 5.0%, labelled "Kirin Beer" and "Premium lager beer")
My first Japanese beer. Lager yellow, quickly diminishing head. Lots of carbonation and big bubbles. Aroma is boiled corn. Watery and metallic with suprisingly good hopping and bready malts. Notes of corn can be tasted when beer warms. Slightly bitter and hoppy aftertaste.

Deep gold colour (like a Bohemian pils). No real head, though. Slightly malt and oily, but only slightly so, like a very light Bohemian pils. Moderate body. Much softer than the regular Kirin Lager (which I just had). Maltiness dominates, but is not particularly well-extracted. Light grassy bitterness and continental hop undertones complement the malts. Not bitter enough to be a proper pilsner, but it has many of the same components. Decent.

Light gold, with oversized bubbles and an anorexic head. Aroma mixes vauge continental hop notes with grains and background solvent notes (no big surprises yet, as this bottle was produced at the AB plant in Los Angeles). Very light body. Grainy palate with a sweetish edge. Unpleasant notes of higher alcohols hide underneath the DMS. The fizziness carries these unfortunate elements across the tongue with much more conviction than whatever malt might be present. Finishes quickly, but not quick enough given the stain all that corn left on my tongue.

Golden with a barely-there head. Sweet rice aroma that quickly turns metallic. Short, bitter aftertaste.

This is another Macro style lager (A-B has thier hand in it what else?) Nothing spectacular. Have it at the Japanese Steak House - you'll live through it.

Golden color. A strange note in the aroma. Reasonable body, some malt, correct balance. Ordinary palate, quite long.

Blond color. Milder taste than the regular. The palate as well is too weak.
