June 2008: 275ml Clear bottle poured into a half-pint tumbler while on holiday in Tobago. The view from the balcony, the sun and warmth it gave made this almost taste OK, almost being the main thing! Typical lager appearance, very pale golden yellow with a thin white head that legged it to leave a minute collar around the glass. My normal score of 3 for an aroma-less lager. Almost tasteless, even as it warmed in the heat no flavours came to me. Weak and watery, soul less and wet.

Brown 275ml bottle drank while on holiday in Tobago. Best before Nov 2008, consummed Jun 2008. Very dark, a true black brew with a dark tan head, which sadly faded away to fast for me. The aroma was fairly weak, some burnt malts but little else. The taste was sweet, treacle and malts, burnt like the smell. Rich in the mouthfeel, but not creamy or milky, nor the dryness some Stouts have. A different Stout without a doubt, not unpleasant, but not a new found favourite either.

Drank while on holiday in Tobago and enjoyed on a very hot, sunny afternoon sat near the pool. Clear 275ml bottle, best before Dec 2008, drank Jun 2008. Poured into a cooled half pint tumbler it appeared a dull gold, light amber colour, but no head, hence the low score for looks. The smell was all about ginger, well what did you expect? Ginger was also the overiding flavour within the taste. It has a strange warm ginger feel, but refreshing and cooling as well, it was just what I needed at the time and my scores reflect that (with some common sense too).

June 2008: Green 275ml bottle, best before Dec 2008. Drank on a boiling hot afternoon in Tobago on my hotel room balcony. This beer doesn’t pretent to be anything else except a refreshing low alcohol shandy. It does it very well. Pale lager colour, no head though. Lemonade and Lime smell, as you would expect by its name. Overal not bad, it was what I needed at the time and my score is obviously more subjective than objective because of the circumstances of the review.

Bottle. Pours a thick motor oil color with a big bubbly head and aromas of brown sugar and a little chocolate. Flavor is a cloying mess and this beer ended in the drain. Yuck!

Originally rated September 2004. Sampled from a 500ml can, which is not very appealing to the eye (which I guess is the reason I am the first to review such a good brew). Poured a black liquid with very dim red highlights, and a brown creamy head. Left some good lacing. The aromas (too bad) were not happening. Not much there, just mild sweetness. The mouth though, was very pleasant. Started on the chocolat side and landed on a slight bitter finish. Mouthfeel is rich and creamy. A great alternative to Young’s Double Chocolat (when you can’t find it - like here in Canada).

Originally rated February 2005. This Caribbean Lager pours a pale yellow-golden colour with a surprisingly good white creamy-foam head. The lacing that was left was very nice, and so was the thin layer of froth that stayed on the brew the whole time. The scent was of malts, bitter-sour and sweet. The mouth contained slight bitterness and some sweetness. Medium body and a light taste of lemon-lime in also found. A pretty good "hot-as-hell-summer" beer, and a damn good alternative to Corona.

Bottle: poured a clear golden with white head. Aroma was sweet grass and grain. Taste was a watery grain and sweet corn/harvest. Nice beer on the hot day in St. Maarten.

12oz can poured into a shaker. Pours a clear pale yellow with about a half finger of white head. Aroma of corn, grains, skunk and a little citrus. Taste is lightly bitter. About the same as aroma with the citrus hops a little more pronounced. Light bodied with a thin texture. Lively carbonation but not much of a finish. Overall, not that bad. I’d put this in the same family as pacifico and modelo. Better than any American macro.
