Description
This is how it all began; this is the heart of our history. Sir Gerald Wight, founder of the Caribbean Development Company (CDC), ensured that the production process, which was based on the European-Continental method of brewing with our own twist, was mastered before the company’s flagship beverage, Carib Lager Beer was sold in 1950. In fact CDC still produces the perfect lager today because our formula continues to include the best ingredients, unwavering quality and constant innovation.

Today Carib Brewery boasts a portfolio that includes Beer, Malt, Stout and Soft Drinks. We produce Carib, Carib Light, Stag, Pola and Pola Light, Shandy Carib, Mackeson and Guinness as well as the following nonalcoholic brands; Ginseng-Up, Malta Carib, Malta Carib Ultra, Smalta Smalta Smiles – over 1,200,000 hectoliters of product every year.

Our acute insight into what our consumers enjoy has also inspired us to form partnerships with international companies such as Heineken International B.V., Diageo and Ginseng Up Corporation. As a result Heineken, Guinness Stout, Ginseng Up and Smirnoff Ice are also part of our portfolio.

Sweet for sure but restrained. Not much molasses as it's more caramel geared. Some chocolate & coffee on the lips.

Yes, is a shandy; limeat that. Better than a typical fruit beer. Much lime ade in this stuff and it comes across as friendly. Wew, I don’t think I can handle the 1.2%, eheh. Fun easy fruity pop flavors. Enjoyable fruit. On the label, water is the main ingredient in this brew, then comes beer. Fruity fun beer something experience; could drink a six pack of this, easy. Yes, sugar sweet lime ade thing going on.

Big black pour with a slowly fading tan head. Arlarming smell a tad off like old spoiled bitter chocolate, if thats possible. Bitter strong rude volatilte creamy alky initial taste. Tastes like it was soaked in fish bladders er sumthin. Slaggly slurpen first watery blacktop runoff. Yes, creamy oily dark spirit. Does not hide alky well, sticks it fumingly in your face. Ive tasted impy stouts better than this and imp stouts are low on my liking list. Finish almost ignites a gag reflex but I can hold off. Lion stout is just as nasty as this and this stuff can’t hold a candle to coopers best extra stout.

Sampled from an 11.16 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark brown color with a small foamy tan head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was sweet and malty with notes of coco, licorice, port wine and vanilla. The flavor was light bitter and tangy with notes of port wine, cherry, cocoa, malted milk and licorice. Medium length finish. Fairly full bodied and smooth. Interesting.

Bottle @ the lovely Back-a-yard resturant. Pours light yellow, lousy head. Honey sweetness dominates this beer. Thin but still quite charming in a way.
