Description
Lancaster Brewery is a multi-award-winning regional brewer of beautiful beers, born and brewed in the North West of England.

Our beer is available far and wide, in cask and in bottles in great pubs across the UK and as far afield as Latvia and China. Stockists also include supermarkets and off licenses regionally and nationally.

We do brewing properly. No fuss, no shortcuts, just proper old fashioned brewing using Freshly milled malt (milled on site the same day that we brew), whole-leaf hops and live yeast that, combined with our expertise, produces some of the best beer in the country.

Our purpose build brewery has been built to be sustainable with our power coming from solar panels on our roof and all our used malt going to feed local free range pigs. We take the environment and our local community seriously, hosting a series of festivals each year at our Brewery site in Lancaster for people to enjoy.

Bottle. Deep brown body with red highlights. Big tan head, slowly diminishing. The aroma has notes of roasted malts, licorice, smoke, ash and a hint of caramel. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Medium to thin body, watery texture and lively carbonation. Initial tastes of roasted and burnt malt with some caramel sweetness behind it. The finish leaves the taste of Necco licorice wafers along with some bitter coffee. Dry.

Bottled 500ml (K-Isolinna, BB 03/2012)
Clear golden color, small white head. Nose has some citrus and peachy fruityness - suprised to read that Saaz is used here, feels more English. Light body. Bitter citrus, elderflower and orange peel in the flavor Fruity citrusy aftertaste. In theory good, but flavors are not very strong. I suppose that bottled version is not "bottle conditioned". At least it is filtered.

Clear amber with an off-white head. Aroma is malty, caramel and light hoppy. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Finish is bitter and dry. This is very filling and full of flavor considering the 3.7 ABV. 120211

500 ml bottle, a Christmas present from my nephew Einar, thanks! ABV is 4.6%. Black colour, big to moderate tan head, nice lacing. Moderate aroma of roasted malts, some fruity hints. The flavour is crisp, fairly dry and moderately roasty throughout, hints of lemons (is Cascade in a stout really a good idea?). Very drinkable, but not the most impressive stout I’ve had.

500 ml bottle, a Christmas present from my nephew Einar, thanks! ABV is 4.9%. Copper coloured beer, moderate off-white head, nice lacing. Moderate malty aroma, notes of bakery and caramel, hints of red fruits. The flavour is fairly malty with distinct notes of caramel and brown bread, in a blind test I might first mistake this ale for a German dunkel. The earthy hops in the finish are more pronounced than in most dunkels, though. A very drinkable beer!

500 ml bottle, a Christmas present from my nephew Einar, thanks! ABV is 4.1%. Golden colour, moderate white head, nice lacing. Moderate aroma, hints of citrus and elderflower. The flavour is fresh and zesty with notes of citrussy hops, also hints of tropical fruits, but the beer is not sweet. A firm bitterness in the finish, very nice. A decent refreshment ale.

500 ml bottle, a Christmas present from my nephew Einar, thanks! ABV is 3.7%. Amber to brown colour, moderate head, slightly off-white. Nice aroma of toffee and floral hops, just a hint of citrus. The flavour is well hopped for its strength, with herbal and citrussy notes, on a background of toffee and malts. Highly drinkable, a pleasant English session ale - among so many others, yes, but well worth a session of its own.

Bottle that my dad brought along, consumed 25.12.10 Pours amber as name suggests, with tiny white bubbly head. There is a medium bitterness, its a bit fruity, dry at end touch metallic also. Pleasant enough beer. 5 A4 T7 P3 Ov12

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. A clear, amber beer with a dense, beige head. Quite neutral nose, bready toffee and some hoppy notes. Rather boring flavor too, but more pronounced, with toffee, some bread and fruity hops. Low on bitterness. Medium body. Sure drinkable, but a bit boring to drink it for hours. 100814

Bottle, courtesy of KimJohansen and Papsoe. A clear beer, yellowish golden in color and with a nice off-white head leaving lacings. English nose with some citrus and meaty pale malts. Dry, medium body, and a flavor pretty much like the aroma, but with more emphasis on the malts. Low on bitterness. A decent beer for sure, but too boring to make me want a revisit. 100814
