Cask @ The Haymarket, Edinburgh [270713]
Amber, clear, dense thin white head, good lacing
Aroma - soft citrus hops, soft sweet fruity malt
Taste - bitter hops, some soft citrus, touch floral, pale soft fruity malts, the over bitter finish spoils the taste for me
Palate - Bitter citrus, dry palate, then a strong wave of dry digestive biscuit, long finish, too dry bitter finish, some paracetamol in the tail
Overall - The beer was initially OK, but that very bitter dry linger was getting a bit much after a while

Cask @ The Ploughe Inn, Longparish. Beautiful looking, clear, deep amber body with a small off-white head. Aroma has caramel, toast, malt and fruit. Flavor is smooth malt, caramel, toast, fruit and mild, pleasant bitterness. Medium body and decent aftertaste. Quite nice bitter that suits the cask treatment.

Cask @ the Haymarket Bar. Pours golden, some haze and a nice head. The nose has citrus and yeasty earthiness as expected in cask versions of pale ales. The taste confirms this and has quite a lot of minerality. The palate is light to medium in body and texture with a refreshing finish. Overall, yet another decent golden ale.

Cask at the Three Guineas, Reading. A brilliant reddish gold pour with a tight cream head; rich aroma of chocolate malts, quite out of keeping with the appearance; rich milky chocolate taste to start, then becoming more fruity; the finish is soft, silky and dry with ingering fruit. Surprising and pleasant.
