Cask handpull at Red Lion, Isleworth. Golden with lasting creamy white head. Good mouth feel, bit grainy. Nice beer. Fine hoppy aroma, really quite juicy in the mouth and with fine malts.

Casked. Amber/copper colour, mediumsized head. Fruity bitter aroma. Hayish, flowery bitter flavour. Quite standard cask bitter. Flowery hops in aftertaste. Not that much "oakish" (or whatever) hints many casked ales do have in them.

Cask@Höyry
Copper brown color, good foamy off-white head. Honeyish flowery hoppy aroma. Dry, oakish start. Typical solid RCH product. Hoppy with some pinewood flavors. Dry aftertaste.

Cask Handpull at County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Deep ruby colour with thin beige head. Good choc coffee with some black cherry fruit. Full and velvety in mouth. Excellent porter. Choc is a bit powdery but fruit balances and runs throughout

Bottle conditioned
Golden color, huge head. Good ale, with some malt in the beginning, drier later, with a nice (dry) hoppy character (old hops).

(Bottle 50 cl) Very dark brown, close to black, with a vague underlying reddish tint. Creamy, beige head leaving a pretty lacework. Aroma of hard roasted malts with a lightly burned note. Rather light body, very malty, lightly burned flavours. Dry, but still soft and very accessible. 281105

500ml bottle from Sainsburys. Oh dear. Murky reddy copper colour with thin white head. Soapy, spicey and not my style of beer at all. The spices seem all out of kilter with the rest of the beer. Perhaps it is just my sense of taste. Re-rate, you know what? I had to drink this again and it really is awful, the spice and perfume is just way too strong. Unbalanced and more or less completely undrinkable.

Cask gravity at Blakes, Dover. I am amazed that it has taken me so long to have this on the site as I have had it many times before. Golden/copper colour with no head. Hoppy, good citrus, some tangerine on the aroma, but there is some balancing caramel too. Quite nice in mouth with good acids and drying hop bitter finish. A good bitter

Bottled import version...utter crap! A weak herbal aroma, atop a light bodied beer, mild herbal flavors, virtually no malt at all, then a big empty strong bitter finish. Near straw color, with a huge pillowy whipped cream head. Dumped it.
