Pours clear copper with decent looking tan head and some spotty lacing. It has a nice full aroma with apples, pears, a touch of spice, coconut and sugary malts. Interesting. The taste begins old ale like with dark fruitiness and brown sugar. It ends with white wine notes. Tasty stuff. Seems like a 9% abv brew. So abv isn’t too well hidden.

Cask-conditioned at the Cornubia, Bristol 30/05/09. Burton Bridge Gold Medal Series ale for May 2009. An easy drinking ale, pale amber in colour with an off-white head. Aroma of apricots and grassy hops. Flavour began sweetish, before some earthy hops and a moderately bitter finish. Ok.

09/04 0.5 l bottle courtesy of ogivlado, thanks for sharing! It poured murky amber body with medium sized head that lived for quite long time. Cascade citrus hops in aroma, with just a bit of honey and vanilla malt beside it. Herbal and citrus hops still dominates the flavor, but just slightly sweet malts are rounding it very well. A bit thin bodied. Alcohol is very well hidden, not felt even at the finish, which is medium long and bittersweet. Nothing too special and a bit thin, but generally nice and definitely a pleasant beer.

Bottled(500ml). -Orange coloured, small to medium white head, agrumy hoppy nose. Sweet malty, very fruity and pleasant strong cascade hops taste. Alcohol is subdued. Touch of spices in the finish. Very good Burton Bridge.

0.5l bottle that ogivlado brought from Wien and shared with heavy and me (thanks!). Poured a lovely murky orange body with a thick chalky white head that took its time to go away. Lovely aromatic hop nose, fruity, agrumey, some honey too. Taste.... fruity herbal-piney hopiness, lovely. Sweet maltiness, light and in the background. Not too bitter, subtle. I didn’t expect much after that Porter they make, but this is definitely a tasty beer.

Bottled(500ml). -Murky amber coloured, huge beige head, dark fruits nose. Moderate malty, dark fruits and mild chocolate taste with notes of raisins and spices. Dry fruity finish. Very nice Burton Bridge beer.

Bottled(500ml). -I was very happy when I’ve found this porter. I opened it and try with Marko...few seconds of silence and then... WTF is this??? Total lack of everything here...in my English porter from Jackson’s 500 Great Beer Guide...This can’t be true. Dark brown coloured, medium to big beige head, light roasty nose. Light roasted malt, some caramel, extremely watery and nothing else. Maybe something weak similar to kelp. Once again- huge disappointment.

Bottled(500ml). -Almost black coloured, big creamy brown head, fruity nose with touch of wood. Strong roasted malt, light smoked, and fruity notes with very discreet blackberry hints. Pleasant roasty aftertaste. Better than Honey Porter I’ve tried before.

Bottle courtesy of and shared with ogivlado who found it in Wien (thanks!) Bottle conditioned, eh? Humm. Poured an extremely dark brown body with a fine off white head that went away slowly. Nice. Proceeded to smell it expecting at least some solid roasty maltiness and got... nothing. What little there is and that I might’ve imagined (that’s how light it was) is some dark malt. And then I tried it and tried it again and was baffled. The bottle looks nice, the beer looks nice. It’s bottle conditioned. How the hell did they manage to make it taste this.. weak and plain. Light caramel, very light milk, dry, slightly bitter. Extremely light roast. Wow what a failure. I can imagine that we just ran into a bad bottle but for over four euros a bottle, I doubt we’ll be having it again.

Wow, first thing I noticed was the amazing apple overtones to the taste, you can almost taste a cider inside the IPA, one of the most unique IPA’s ive evr had, finishes great, a wonderful find.
