Description
Burton Bridge Brewery is a traditional style brewery that produces a wide range of beers.

We have stillaging and cooling equipment, will organise a selection of beers for you to approve and set it all up

For something a little different ask if we have our vintage Morris dray available. It has been on display at festivals and was used as a hearse for a funeral.

Mid-2024 the ownership of the Burton Bridge brewery has changed hands in a merger which also ensures the future of the town’s Heritage brewery.

The deal sees Burton Bridge come under the umbrella of leisure company Planning Solutions, which previously ran the National Brewery Centre in Burton, prior to Molson Coors’ decision to close it.

50 cl bottle brought over from England by a friend. Label sais "Burton Empire Pale Ale". Shady orange color with a huge white to tan lasting creamy head. Fresh hoppy a bit fruity scent, very refreshing with a clear apricot touch to it, could be some Chinook hops in there. Hoppy and sweet taste with a hint of alcohol. Medium high bitterness. Normal mouthfeel. Fresh and bitter aftertaste. It’s does not have enough kick though! It needs more bitterness and more hoppy taste to make it better!

Cask. Fruity aroma. Clear golden colour, small frothy white head. The flavour is refreshingly citric, fruity and a bit earthy. Slightly above average bitterness, a little rough. OK summer ale.

Cask. Weak fruity aroma. Black colour with a red hue. Frothy light brown head. Green apple flavour, a bit sour. This is a mild ale, not a porter.

(Cask at Ship & Mitre, Liverpool, 24 July) Colour is very dark brown (not really black, but almost) with ruby notes, thick lasting beige head. Beautiful! Nose is roasted with chocolate, dark fruit and distinct notes of earthy/dusty hops. Taste is roasted and malty with tobacco, chocolate pudding, perfectly balanced sweetness and a nice hoppy finish. This beer can be a bit uneven, but this one was in almost perfect condition. Very nice!

500ml Bottle picked up at the Grog shop, Jericho, Oxford 29-07-06. This poured a wonderful red, almost looked like a deep rich claret, no head to speak of. Fruity and almost rum like aroma, tasted fruity and malty but I found the alcohol to be a little harsh. Whilst I am impressed with the effort and imagination that has gone into this I’m not sure that it is a particularly good example of its type. I struggled with it a bit.

[Cask at Charlies Bar, Copenhagen] A hazy light yellow beer with a bubbly beige head. The aroma is yeasty and fruity with a slight note of diacethyl, but not too much. The flavor is very fresh with notes of green apples on a light malty back ground. A very easily drinable session beer - though without a lot of character.
