Commenced Brewing as O’Hanlons Brewery in 1996 in Vauxhall, London.

In 2000 moved to Whimple in Devon.

In 2013 was bought out and name changed to Hanlons.

Hanlons are a family owned-and operated craft brewery based in the picture-perfect countryside of Mid-Devon. We are dedicated to the task of producing truly iconic ales and our fantastic brewing team craft authentic British-made beers for the curious and experienced consumer. Our focus is on using high quality ingredients alongside sustainable and innovative brewing processes in order to create a consistently exceptional product time after time.

Our highly motivated, friendly team are driven by a shared vision that the care, attention and expertise of each one of us can be tasted in every drop of our award-winning ales. All beers are lovingly brewed on site and we are super proud of our extensive range including Yellow Hammer, Firefly Bitter, Port Stout, Stormstay, Citra IPA and our new CBD IPA.

We are obsessively passionate about what we do, and it is safe to say that our team is made up of unashamed beer enthusiasts! We feel that this is the key ingredient to our success and that our communal desire to produce the ‘perfect pint’ constantly drives us forward as a company. In fact, at Hanlons it is our firm belief that behind the success of every business, there is a family.

Bottle. Creamy off-white good mostly lasting head. Amber colour. Heavy malty and moderate hoppy aroma. Very vinius. Perfect sweet/biter flavor balance. NIce honey notes. Long fantastic finish. Creamy palate. Excellent BW.

2006 version, from the cask at the Rake, August 2007. Deep amber color. No head. No bubbles. Rich fruit and malt aroma, sweet and port-like with molasses. Tangy, sour, fruity flavor. Tons of malt, lots of alcohol. Sweet, with dark fruits. Hot, dry alcohol and fruit finish. A bit too young, but great.

Cask @ 3 Judges. Black colour, bright brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate. Flavour of soft roasted malts and coffee. A bit watery, too soft to really stand out.

Bottle courtesy Saxo. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Yellow colour. Light malty and heavy hoppy aroma. Nice grape and pine notes. Moderate bitter nice flavpr. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate. Really nice hoppy beer.

50 cL bottle. Pours almost clear and golden orange with a huge, creamy and white head. Aroma is mild yeasty and light floral. Dry malty, light phenolic and bitter hoppy flavoured. Mild fruity and bitter finish.

Cask @ Blackfriars. Clear dark golden colour, small white head. Aroma of sour fruits, some malts. Flavour of glue, sourness, some malts.

Bottles shared thx to gnoff cons 2011-02-26 Göteborg AR: essence of barly wine, alcoholic, tart AP: dark reddish, wee white head F: vinos, marsipan, sweet slippery, nutty - almond, warming 4,0* new everage 4,1 Provdatum: 2008-12-06 , flaska, Göteborg - 2008 edition No T 34393. Komplex, stor kropp som flytande fudge över tungan, oljig konsistens. Man kanske skulle ha köpte ett par stycken och druckigt en i halvåret? Nej, jag har inte nått den öl expertisen nivån ännu. Anteckningar: Sheila tog till och med slatten. Det brukar jag också göra - oftast helt OK att förtära speciellt om man tittar till priset på denna ädla 25åring... Tur att det är billigare än motsvarnde Wiskey. Fantastisk! 2007 edition! Provdatum: 2008-01-03

Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Amber colour. Fruity and well roundwd with salt and hay, medium bodied. Ripe fruits, plums in particular. Salty finish.

(Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, nutty nose with dried apricots, caramel and earthy hops. Malty taste with notes of dried fruit, caramel a touch of citrus and a fairly short finish with earthy hops. Medium body, some sweetness shining through. A decent bitter in good balance.
