Pint can into mug. Bought from Super 1 in Post Falls, Idaho. Smells like sweet bread. These widget cans always give off the best appearance. It looks like brown volcano smoke building in my glass. Leaves a thick off-white head with nice creamy lacing. Beautiful. Pours black with reddish tints when held up to the light. Taste is bitter. Mouthfeel is creamy with virtually no carbonation. I really hate that. I need bubbles in my beer, dammit. With such a bitchin appearance, it’s a shame the lack of carbonation completely ruins this beer.

Draught at Sheehans in Dublin. Dark black with a foamy, fine, tan head. Malty, slightly sweet aroma with chocolate. Creamy, chocolatey, rather sweet flavor, though no overly so. Ok roasted character, with some coffee and a touch of sour. Not highly carbonated. Finish is dry, well roasted, and creamy with a touch of sweetness. Good but rather subdued. Could have more flavor.

Black with nitro head. Caramel and fruit aroma, possibly with a little diacetyl. Thinnish caramel sweet flavour with underlying, lingering roast.

Can. Pours black with a thick lasting grayish brown head. Aroma is full of roasted malts with notes of dark chocolate. Flavor is a nice combo of roasted malts and dark chocolate with a dry finish. Though the flavor did seem a bit watered down.

Dark brown color. Tan, firm head. Bubbles that head to the bottom of your glass. Very light malts in the aroma along with light chocolate malts and some sourness. Nice flavor. Light roasted malts and a hint of chocolate but also a nice sour, dry finish. Such a smooth mouth I hardly recognize this as a stout. The finish is roasted malts, light chocolate, and just a little sourness keeps bringing me back for more.

Bottle. A clear, golden beer with a minimal-sized off-white head. Caramel and notes of fruit on the nose. The flavor is caramel-malty with some fruityness, some bitterness towards the end. Quite dry. An easy drinkable beer that doesn’t add excitement to my world. 090822

Bottle. Poured a dull red with an off white head. Aroma has some earthy notes as well as some roasted notes. Roasted notes are more apparent in the flavor with a bit of bitter hops at the finish.

Bottle. Strong buttery malt aroma. Copper color with moderate head. Initially strong acidity followed by a sweet buttery caramel malt flavor with a sharp grassy hops finish - thankfully the diacetyl doesn’t come out as strong with the taste as the aroma. Not bad.

50cl can. Pours black color with a creamy beige head. Really like the aroma of roasted malt. Very smooth mouthfeel. Malty flavor with some coffee in it. Dry finish, overall a nice stout. A little too watery though.
