Tap at CK - I think they made a tripel and decided it wasn’t complex enough, so they chucked it in a wine barrel - it’s got a nice, frothy texture to it - a ton of malbec character up front and through the middle, as well as some oak toastiness and vanillins - drier up front with this character - the beer’s qualities come through late - fairly high sweetness and mild esters of banana - even with the barrel treatment, not terribly complex, but the wine character works well enough and adds enough depth to make it enjoyable enough.

22oz bottle shared by Brandon. Poured into a 12oz Corsendonk goblet glass. Beer for people who don’t like the taste of beer. Aroma is strong definitely spicy pepper cocoa rich chocolate cake. Pepper spice thin out the beer. There is a lot of heat in the flavor all in he back of the throat. Beer is a little thinned out by it. I like spice but there isn’t a pepper flavor just heat. Cool stuff but very adjuncty and not beery. Saving the other half the bottle for cooking.

Tap at CK - turbid dark amber/copper - nose has some light nutty character, toasted grains, light spice and clove - creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation - flavor is spicy up front, with some dry clove flavors, but the sweetness of overripe banana and raisin set in quickly - soft, toasty wheat and a dry, roasty nuttiness arrive for the finish - kind of middle of the road compared to some of their other weizens, which still makes it quite good.

Tap at CK - light hazy gold - nose is lightly musky, floral, sweet, with prominent but not overpowering notes from.the barrel - flavor is tart and lightly acidic up front, but a fairly strong sweetness develops late - mild vanilla from the oak and strong tannins from the wine - lightly peppery in the finish, with a lingering finish - okay, just a bit sweet for me.

Tap at CK - listed as Barrel Aged Baltic Porter - dark ruby beer - nose is heavy in oak and vanillins, some caramel, light char - body is a bit thin and texture is a bit watery for such a high abv brew - a lot of vanilla in the flavor, caramelized sugars, roast, char - quite sweet throughout - simple.
