2005 bottle bought at Super Saver in Jersey. I had to throw that in b/c I bought it earlier today and the store rocks. This bottle was probably sitting around the stores selves for a few months and in my fridge for about 2 hours. Not cold but chilled when served. I poured it into a large cognac snifter. Pours is rather nice. Nice thick head, not what a BW usually gives off. Dark amber colored, no clarity throgh the body and just a bit of translucence. Thick head dissipates into a strong lacing. Now this is where the beer goes south. In general, if I didnt know what I was drinking I may not even think this is a BW. Nose has a very present hop character over taking a very mild malt, cookiedough aroma. Taste is rather light, no way would I think this is 11%. Its no even a strong hop flavor just moderate. Nothing really reminiscent of BW. Finishes with a bit of sweetness and a moderate hop bitterness. Weird stuff. I did pick up one more bottle from Super Saver to hold onto for a few years. While I doubt it will get better, I will check back then.

Bottle from cbkschubert. Thanks! nose of hops, hops, and citrus! amber with a small white head, flavor is pleasantly hoppy with some decent bitterness, but not overly so.

An orange beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma is sweet grapefruity combined with notes of pine and caraway seeds. The flavor is sweet with a crisp toffee background on which are lots of hops and grapefruit notes. Nice.

Very difficult to describe beer. The taste is veyr complacted and reawrding at the end. The alcohol is subtle and you would not know that it is 7.5 percent unless you read it off the label. Complexity is the main draw of this beer. it is not for everyone, but everyone should give it a try to see if they dig the tast.

Bottle. Grapefruit hops aroma with hints of orange and pineapple. Medium amber color with small head. Taste primarily slightly sweet grapefruit hops with bitterness lingering long after swallowing. Definitely a hops lover beer.

Bottle. Coffee and dark chocolate aroma. Opaque dark brown color with moderate head but pours pretty thin for the style. Coffee and dark chocolate flavor with moderate acidity and moderate hops and a light alcohol bite at the finish. Drinkable but as others have said, not a very good example of an Imperial stout.

Bottle. Light musty/pepper aroma. Clear medium yellow color with small head. Musty dry flavor initially followed by a sweet red cherry and light peach flavor. The dry mustiness lasts long after swallowing. Not quite as complex as its Belgian brothers but still very nice.

Poured a clear brown with almost no white head. Smelled like candy and flowers, very interesting and inviting. Initial flavor is extremely malty and just a little bitter. Big mouth feel with a bitter, fizzy finish.

Slightly hazy, bright copper body, thin off-white head. Rindy citrus and pine hops aroma backed by toast and alcohol. The body is a sweet bouquet of grapefruit, pine, and perfumey hops in a matrix of light, sweet breads. Grassy finish, bitter but not palate-devouring, with touches of clover honey lingering on the palate. Nice, soft body. Well-done. Thanks xproudfoot!
