Jet-black beer under a greenish-greige rim. Stout features with burnt and acidic notes, bit of meat, hot ironslag. Roasted/burnt, meatcrust with quite some sweetness underneath. Full bodied, oily, viscous, rich feel. Good try, but not yet a Speedway Stout, I’m afraid.

No head left; metallic copper, clear beer. Bit of sewage, plus classical citrusaroma’s, hint at other grains. Bitter-citrus hoppy, hopoil galore. No more unpleasant wafts as in the nose. Quite slick, nearly medium bodied, hopoils’ feel. Pity about the nose.

On tap at Francis, Retro Beer Bar, Plze?, Czech Republic. Milk chocolate, coffee, roasty. Smooth and silky, chocolate like mouthfeel, some coffee bitterness, very sophisticated. Medium body, light dry coffee finish with some chocolate sweetness. Excellent, but I’d say it’s an American stout, not India black ale.

Dark brown to black beer, big creamy beige to brown head, very stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: sourish, brett notes, some coffee, very roasted. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty sourish start, funky, cocoa powder, very roasted, some alcohol. Aftertaste: bit fruity, sourish, funky, infected brett touch, hoppy, grassy dry bitterness, cocoa powder. Not sure if the sour (infection?) is intentional... But I like a dash of sourness in my stouts, makes 'm easier to digest, I think. :p

Clear orange beer, nice off-white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very fruity, passion fruits, bubble gum, sweet notes, bit sugary. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: bit sweet start, rich smooth flavour, lots of hop, some caramel, bitter. Aftertaste: nice smokiness again, bit leathery, sweet, but also very fruity, passion fruits, mango, citrus, very nice job here!!!

Rating #14300. Draught @ Kulovy Blesk , Prague. Pours Hazy golden with a white head. Nose is fruity hops - NOT entirely fresh. Quite yeasty. Strawberry and pine. Dusty and a bit dull although aggressively hoppy.
