Medium creamy white head with a rash of larger bubbles. Clear yellow body with ongoing carbonation. Acidic, grainy aroma with a hint of straw. Acidic, grainy, straw-like taste with milky mouthfeel. Dry, grainy, milky taste lingers. Not really all that successful. (Can from hotel minibar.)

Big, offwhite creamy head over seemingly black, but really dark red, body. Sweetish, faintly roasty aroma. Sweetish taste of licorice and faint roastiness with faintly dry aftertaste. Nice, easily drinkable, not too exciting. Overall impression is that it’s a beer with very little taste, but still not really boring. (On tap. I think this rating is attached to the right beer, but not absolutely sure. Served at "Two Cats" (whatever that is in Czech), which was very much a Prazdroj house. It was definitely Prazdroj, definitely dark, and definitely 12 degrees. This is the only beer that matches.)

Can, 500 ml; appearance: good head that vanishes quickly, yellow with some orangey reflection; nose: hops that is dominant giving an impression of freshness; mouth: hops dominate, followed by some bitterness and sweetness at the end

Malty and herbal. Easy drinking but with character. Something I can drink 4-5 full half liter glasses of in one sitting and not come close to getting tired of it. Love the stuff.9/5/9/4/18=4.5

I tried this as a commercial version at the pub close to the brewery museum in Pilzen. I also tried it during the tour in the basement of the brewery, straight from a barrel. Tried it at two different occasions, both at Na Parkanu and in the tunnels at both visits. Pretty special and a nice extra touch to this very special and great beer. It’s even better when tasted unfiltered. Nice cloudy yellow color, big fluffy frothy white head. Herbal hoppy fresh scent. Also hoppy herbal taste. Medium high bitterness. Amazing full fresh mouthfeel. Summery aftertaste. 8/5/9/5/19=4.6 Rerate At Na Parkanu on June 26, 2008: 8/4/8/4/16=4.0 At the cellars having about 2 liters :) - Same rating as before: 8/5/9/5/19, just an amazingly nice pils. From Na Parkanu: Fruity hoppy taste. Fresh fruity hoppy scent. Smooth mouthfeel. Medium bitterness. Shady orange color. Creamy white head. Rerate Yet again I took the tour of the Pilsner Urquell BRewery, yet again I longed for that pilsner from the cellar, yet again I left with a smile on my face, wanting more! On August 1, 2017. Hazy golden color, large lasting off-white head with lacing. Sweet, malty, herbal scent. Herbal, crips, malty, bitter taste. Herbal, bitter aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bitterness. I can drink this all the time and be happy, fantastic it is! The full score goes to the beer from the cellar only, the top notch one. Others are awesome too, but the one you get after the tour is simply to die for. 10/5/10/5/20=5.0 Had this plenty of more times, both during the brewery tour, but also the version selling as unfiltered in some bars on tap these days. Just a great beer that I can keep drinking over and over. Since the from the cellar on the tour have become a separate rating, adjusting my figures of this rating into: At Na Parkanu on June 26, 2008: 8/4/8/4/16=4.0

12 oz bottle - Note, I am not a pilsner fan. I’ve had too many flavorless, yellow, fizzy beers in the style. But this one is actually pretty good. Pours a fairly thick, moderate duration head, not much lacing. Taste is pretty light as one would expect for a pilsner, but finishes with the bite of Euro hoppiness. It lacks complexity, but I could drink a few of these without complaint. Rerate 1/24/2010: Excellent crisp hops in the flavor, a little citrus, great balance and drinkability. A fine pilsner. Bumped rating from 3.3 to 3.5.

Pale golden body under rapidly subsiding head of coarse white lace. Faint aroma of malt and crisp hops. Clean malty taste with hints of straw; clean crisp bitter hop finish. A very well-made pilsner, though not that exciting. Certainly not the best pilsner I’ve had.

330ml bottle from Unwins. Pale gold with white bubbly head. Along with Budvar, one of my favourites. Nice pilsner citric hop. OK in mouth with satisfying hop citric finish. More flavour than most lagers too.. 2.7.5.0 Re-rate Draught at blind tasting at Modry Abbe. Pretty looking beer, clear gold, thick cream head. Excellent carbonation. NO huge aroma, some hop on finish. No bad or off flavours, nothing to make it unattractive. It’s fine. Even some drinkability.

Golden pils with thin white head. Grassy grainy malt aroma with nice crisp hops. Saaz hops come out of the crisp chalky malt, nicely balanced. Medium bodied. Classic.
