500ml bottle. Clear, reddish, mahogany colour with average to huge, thick, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Sweet-ish, dark malty aroma, hints of malt lozenge, some caramel, grassy hoppy overtones. Taste is dry, dark malty, slightly some nuttily, residual sweetness, hints of malt lozenge and caramel, grassy hoppy overtones. Well balanced, not too sweet.

Euro2-Bottle (Ottos Mops hopst fort):Clear, pale golden to golden, medium-sized stable and almost creamy white head; mild nearly dry grainy nose with subdued aromas of cardboard or even vegetables underneath, hops barely detectable; moderate to - almost - solid sweetish-bitter flavour, medium bodied, crunchy MF; lingering honeyish and grassy-bitter finish. Disappointing aroma, but all in all a pleasant Bock...

(bottle) Clear, pale golden colour with a blond and firm medium-sized foamy head. Slightly grainy pale malty aroma with notes of white bread, traces of honey and shades of flowery hops. Sweet and mildly bitter flavour, medium to light bodied with a slightly crisp carbonation. Delicately bready and slightly honey-ish malty base with a mildly drying, slightly flowery and spicy hoppy counterpart; sweet malty and slightly bitter hoppy finish. Decent. 01.VI.16

*Old rating. Best before 04.2011. Many thanks to Kevnic2008 for this bottle. Malty grainy, not too intense with bitter hints. Sweetish malty. Grainy bitter aftertaste. A bit unround but typical. The bitterness is a bit neutral. Somehow unround.

0,5 l from Georg, the local hero. Thanks a lot! As expected clear dark golden with a more than one finger thick foamy but only short living white head. Little bit grainy grassy on the nose. Taste ist smooth grainy, some encreasing malt, low bitterness. Typical good bavarian Helles but nothing special in that area.
