A golden ipa with a thin creamy white head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with smooth floral hops, grapefruit pulp, nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice fruity biscuit malt with loads of funky piney and catty floral hops, light sulfur, Nelson Sauvin hop, grapeskin, nice and complex. On tap at brewery.

A golden ipa with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with loads of piney resinous floral hops, grapefruit pulp, very nice. In mouth, a surprising hop bomb for a session ipa, with light biscuit malt but loads of citrus hops, tropical fruit, nice and pleasant, hoppy quaffer. On tap at brewery.

A golden saison with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with nice banana esters with cloves, nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with light cloves, curacao, cilantro, fruity esters with powdery character, well balanced yet in your face Saison. On tap at brewery.

A hazed murky yellow Weisse with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, light lemony Weisse with light lime, lactic acid, Epsom salts, nice. In mouth, key lime pie in your mouth, not too sweet, light lime, lactic acid, very nice and smooth, summer quaffer. On tap at brewery.

750mL bottle picked up at Lueken’s in Dunedin. It pours with a deep dark body that supports a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up dark roasted malts, a dash of burnt malts, a bit of dark roasted coffee and then sweeter smelling notes of malt balls and chocolate malts. The taste tries to be soft and silky but doesn’t quite make it but that isn’t a problem. I get malt sweetened dark roasted malts, a sliver of brunt malts and then chocolate malt balls. It’s a pretty smooth approachable Imperial Stout. As I type this up from my written notes why is it I hear a Beastie-Boys song . . .

Keg at RBWG ’15 Grand Tasting @ Coppertail,quick diversion to the bar for this one, 21/02/15. Hazed reddish amber with a decent off white covering. Nose is sharp red berries, spice, straw, citric rinds, light must. Taste comprises dirty red berry, pissy straw, musty, moderate acidity. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with light puckerings. Ok red berry ’Linner.

Bottle at RBWG ’15 Grand Tasting @ Coppertail, thanks to whomever shared this one, 21/02/15. Black topped with a moderate tan swirl. Nose is coffee grinds, rich roast, spice, chocolate. Taste comprises chocolate, molasses, toffee, liquorice, light spice, charr, coffee. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Solid impy, good balance and drinkability.
