On tap at Axe & Barrel. Bright reddish-amber. Thin head. Lots of biscuity, toasty malts on the nose, but on the palate it’s thin and sour. Meh.

Quite pale, haze. Kiwi, blueberry and other sorts of random fruitiness. Alcohol, harsh, light pale malts and a fistful of sweaty stale old hops.

Golden brown colour. Thin head. Toasty and vaguely nutty. Thin, light brown ale, not really getting it done as a mild.

Bright straw colour, not so much head. Aroma shows sticky malts, sticky, gluey pale malts. Not popping. Too sweet, and not nearly a rich enough malt profile to get away with that.

Light amber, bright but a bit dull. Light toast and caramel. Sweet, a touch of caramel and toast. Really straightforward amber, of the type I've had 2000 times before.

On tap at Sooke Oceanside, pours a clear copper with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out toasted nuts, some herbal notes, and gentle caramely bready malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with herbal and vegetal notes, plenty of caramel, and booze. Rather biting, herbal finish. Not bad.

On tap at Sooke Oceanside, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma is authentic, with a touch of briney tartness, and light toasted malt. Flavour is drier, with just a lot of bitter toasted malt. Easy drinking and a bit bitter finish. Not bad.

On tap at Sooke Oceanside, pours a clear pale golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out bright earthy hops upfront and dry biscuity malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with earthy hops and dry biscuity malt. Dry and biting. Solid stuff.
