Euston Tap. Almost clear gold beer, little white head. Light dry palate. Mild dry pale malt, okay hops. Medium bitterness, orange peel with a trace of lemon. A little bit of floralness. Dry finish with a medium bitter aftertaste. All right.

Bottle from Mr Lawrence Wine Merchants. It pours hazy straw yellow, with a thin white head. The nose is Bell pepper, lemon pith, tangerine, hay and spice. The taste is sharp lemon, grass, hay pepper and soap, with a pretty bitter finish. Light-medium body and fine carbonation. Very bitter indeed, but I don’t think the body holds up to it. Not up to the usual Arbor standards.

Bottle at my Semi-Final Tasting, London. Pours muddy, brown-black with a light, beige bubble foam head. Rich nose of burnt malts, grapefruit and pine. Nice flavor, medium sweet with thick pine, dirt, burnt cocoa and burnt grass. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Oily, highly resinous finish with lots of burnt grass and heavy roast. There’s a touch of abrasive hops in the finish as well, the the beer is quite decent overall. The beer does have its rough edges (as I think many Arbor beers do) butt his is a very solid effort.

Cask at the Euston Tap, London. Pours clear gold with a fluffy, white head. Grassy hop nose with some straw, pale malts and subtle citrus. Light to medium sweet flavor with some juicy pineapple, faintly toasted grass, licks of pine, some tangerine. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Mildly resinous to finish, with some orange, tangerine, grass and pine. A pretty decent APA. Not outrageous, but decent.

Cask at CP&K. It pours cloudy golden, with a thin white head. The nose is citrus fruit (particularly orange and grapefruit), spice, grass and urine. The taste is intensely bitter, resin, grass, spice, wheat, soap, pine and lots of grapefruit, with a long, aggressively bitter finish. Light-medium body and soft carbonation. Big, bold flavour, but probably too much for the body to handle. I’m unsure about this one...

Cask at the Craft Beer Co, London on 14th July 2012. Hazy gold with thin white head. Bitter hoppy aroma. Rich and intense hoppy bitterness in-mouth with grassy notes and peach scents. Lasting satisfying intensely bitter finish. An acquired taste for some, but this drinker acquired it first sip! An incredibly intense flavour profile for a 3% ale.

Bottle from Jacks, Westholme Stores, Goring-on-Thames, Friday 13th July 2012 Consumed at home Saturday 14th July 2012 Hazy fantazi dark gold with soft creamy off-white head. Sweet and sour oranges and lemons, some thickness in the mouth but Loz not a fan. A little fuzzy furry coating across the mouth, Sweet with citrus touch of harshness and pithiness, its good but not great. Aroma is strange bit like a warm dustbin. A5 A3 T8 P4 Ov13 3.3

Chelmsford Beer Festival. Opaque black brown beer. Decent bubbly tan head. Light dry palate. Rich dark malt with a little roast - pretty subtle. Mild coffee. Unsweet dark chocolate. Lovely berry fruits provide great counterbalance. Red berry fruits, black berry fruits - rich, tangy and juicy. I presume these fruits coming from the Port. Finishes dry. Not tasted a better Port Stout than this. Really nice fruits.

Cask-conditioned at the Three Tuns, Bristol 4/07/2012. Deep gold with a slight whit head. Slight aroma of lemon fruit with some biscuity malts. Flavour had some more citrus, with a solid malt base and decent, bitter finish. Fine.

Bottle from Grape & Grind, Bristol. Pale gold in colour with a slight white head and moderate carbonation. Crisp, slightly earthy malt aroma with a touch of hedgerow fruit. Grainy malt flavour, with a spicy kick and bitter finish. Unusual.
