Description

Pours light brown with reddish hints, quite clear. A couple of fingers of light greyish head. Good enough retention and lacing. Average intensity in the aroma: soft nutty malts borderlining chocolate, with a bit of cola-like refreshing feeling on the back. Delicate background of dry hoppiness (half herbal, half leafy/tea like). Taste notes follow the aroma closely, with pretty nice intensity. Softly malty and slightly sweet in the mouth, wonderfully balanced by a rather dry finish and aftertaste that doesn't take away from softness and drinkability. Light bodied with average, fine/light bubbled carbonation; goes down super easy but still leaves a nice slightly creamy feeling. Very classic/true to style, very well refined, an excellent example of the style.

Fast gone, off-white head over clear golden beer. Asafoetida - very strong - ureum, citruspeel, resins. Sharpish, crude aromas. More of the same with cloth, clover, and dry biscuits. Some root spice, or mustard powder. Grainhusks. Quite slick, resiny feel. Medium carbonation, if not visible. Aftertaste again asafoetida, and metallic. Crude, unrefined flavours; long way from Pliny, I'm afraid. Thanks to Stef!
