Hand-pulled pint in Willys Brewpub, Cleethorpes on 9 Mar 2013. Amber to dull old gold in colour with a white head that endevoured to hang around and leave some lacing as the beer level sank. Hoppy nose, as you’d expect: not as ’in your face’ as most US brewed APA’s I’ve encounted but hoppy enough for me. Only a mild citrus front (good, I don’t like them too citrusy): this had a floral and earthy smell. The taste was all about the hops, the malts preventing the beer becoming too bitter but not actually reaching my taste buds: just helping to control the hops somewhat. Body depth was fine and I enjoyed the beer, my first from this fairly new brewery: I’ll look out for more of their offerings.
