Cask at the Eldon Arms, Reading. Copper in hue with a moderate white head and a light sparkle. Pleasant but not overwhelming orange and peach hops are nicely balanced against soft malts to create a tasty and crisp yet mellow and satisfying bitter. Nice one.

Cask at the Hog and Partridge, St Neots. Mid-gold, clear, with a quickly dissipating head. Slight peach/pine aroma. Hard to get much of the bouquet. Sweet malty/woody taste. Slight finish. Light body. Aftertaste throws some bitter acidity at me. Not an APA by any stretch of the imagination, and hardly even a decent basic bitter.
