On tap at the brewery pours a watery deep brown/black with some cloudy, creamy colored head. Nose is what your expect with malt and toast and oats, some light nuts, some burnt crust. Flavor is sweet and chewy with malt and grist and oats, a little baker’s chocolate, yeast. Finishes creamy and dry.

Scopey’s grand vertical. Very hazy brown beer, a few pale tan bubbles. Thin and mildly tangy dark malts. Some insipid fruits. Dry finish. Cheeky name, pretty dull product.

Bottle shared in East Croydon - thanks to Paul. Pours unclear brown with a fine, creamy head. Tangy dark malts in the nose, some prune and plum, faint cocoa. Light to medium sweet flavor with nice dark malt character, ripening dark berries, raisin, plum, cherry. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, lightly jammy, with more dark fruits, plum, mild cocoa, bread. Really tasty beer.

Bottle in Croydonia big thanks to Wingmane. It pours cloudy deep brown with a tiny, bubbly light tan head. The aroma is sweet, medicinal, boiled sweet, sugared plums, dried fruits and candy. The taste is smooth, roasted malt, bitter - sweet, slightly ashy, dried fruits, touch of jam, plum, medicinal, rather spicy, pepper with a dry, toasty finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A bit earthy and dirty, but overall ok.

Draft at Craft 100 Spring 2016 - Craft Beer Co. Clapham, London. Pours mostly clear gold with a light, white foam head. The nose holds grainy pale malts and a little hay. Light sweet flavour with touches of lemon, rind, more pale grains. Light bodied with fine carbonation; good condition. Nicely balanced on the finish, with notes of biscuits and lemon peel. Pretty alright stuff.
