Bottle recieved with Euro Swap 2 2018, many thanks to Bartlebier! The beer has an red and orange colour with little foam. It has a nice hoppy and fruity nose. The taste is full, grain, hopps and sweet fruityness. Very nice!

Pours dark amber and rather murky from the bottle. The frothy head lingers. Aroma is a mix of berry, apple and caramel. A bit of a stinky sneaker undertone crops up at times. Taste has an up front hoppy bitterness that I don’t much care for. Finishes the same. Body is medium. Dry throughout. Warming at the end. Drinkable.

Pours reddish from the bottl. Frothy to foamy head slowly fades. Aroma has floral and malty tones, a bit of apple, caramel. Taste is mildly bitter and fruity on a sweet, malty base. Well balanced. Süffig. A pleasure to drink this one. Medium body, lightly chewy, moderate carbonation. Very nice.

The 2017 edition of this ‘Black Forest farmhouse ale’ by a small, new German microbrewer, thanks to tderoeck for sharing. Very thick and creamy, papery lacing, egg-white head, cloudy amberish orange blonde robe. Aroma of ripe papaja, frying onions, peanuts, bread crust, dried mango peel, raw cinnamon, red curry powder and a surprisingly refreshing and uplifting note of fresh mandarin flesh piercing through this all. Fruity onset in a mildly exotic way, green banana, mango and orange associations, medium carb, finely tingling in a soft, caramelly and peanutty malt body with a light toasty touch; finishes with aromatic, pleasantly spicy-herbal and citrus peel-like hoppiness, with some breadiness lingering. Not much farmhouse about this apart from a certain earthiness perhaps, but the ‘amber ale’ moniker on the label says it all, this is indeed a modern, American style amber ale with an earthy twist to it, lending it a bit more depth. Very pleasantly drinkable, this brewery clearly has a good understanding of Anglo-Saxon styles in spite of being situated deep in beer-conservative Germany.

0.33 l bottle from 'Rudat', best before September 2019. Pitch black with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty, quite smoky and moderately spicy aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, smoked sausage and traces of cinnamon. Moderately sweet, malty, quite roasty, moderately smoky and slightly spicy taste of dark chocolate, coffee, cinnamon, toasted nuts, some smoked ham and a touch of tonka beans, followed by a medium long, rather roasty-bitter, earthy, spicy and slightly smoky finish. Medium body, slightly creamy and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay, not as great as it sounds.
