Description
Petre Devos was a historic brewery from Oudenaarde. After 45 years of silence, a new generation of boys from the Flemish Ardennes are brewing old monuments and contemporary creations.
The old monuments are sour old beers as they have been brewed in our region since time immemorial. With the new beers we bridge the gap between the old and new beer world. Patience and knowledge meet the urge to discover and a little eccentricity.
Taste our sophisticated range of beers !

Thick, dense, lightly yellowish head, leaving some lace over finely carbonated darker golden beer. Sweet, almondy nose, bit gassy. Sweet & toasted "hot" malts, herbs. Again those "hot" malts, toasted and spicy. Main taste has a bit bitterness, but finishes again sweet. Feels very carbonated, almost fizzy. Quite slick, not much body. I think a clever badger would go for something else. Keep to the sours and the OBs, guys, this is boring.

Enormous yellowish head, stable, looking for all the world as whipped eggwhite; veiled orange beer, lively carbonated; rings of lace. Leafy, herbal, white candi sugar, perfumey. Bit aggressive nose. Sweet-ish. Furious carbonation masks flavours but for sweetness; herbal and spicy. White candi sugar as good as certain. Rather burning MF. Bit empty, high attenuation despite still certain sweetness. As if in full fermentation yet. As a tripel, more or less succeeded. What it has to do with saison, only Americans or Scandinavians might explain.

Pours clear, dark brown, red glow. Medium sized stable creamy white head. Scent is velpon, wood, mild dark malts, minor fruity touch. Taste is sharp, very tart, high ( too high ) carbo. Mild velpon. Lactic acid, touch (very mild) acetic. Decent, but a bit 'hollow' under the high carbonation. More dry than the average oud bruin .

Gushing to light brownish cream head, thick, over dark brown beer with copperish rim. Lactic nose, sourish, with chcocolate, diary, vinous, old wet wood, dark grapes, balsamico. Sweet-sour, in the best Flemish Oud Bruin way. Lots of lactic acid, but buffered by the dark malts. Fruity esters' galore, grapey, and some earthy notes. Surprisingly well-bodied for an Oud Bruin (sour). Very good carbonation, slick to oily. Prime quality Oud Bruin, pity about the gushing. Txs to Stef!
