Keg at Radisson Blu, Addis Ababa. Clear golden body with a thin white head that fades. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of grain and metal. Flavour of stainless steel. Thin body with a watery, slightly oily texture. Soft fizz. Quite harsh on the finish.

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pale golden colour with a thin white head. Aroma is light malt, grain. Light flavour of sweet malts, grains, mild herby notes. Mild bitterness to finish. Watery texture. Not great but I did mainly try this for the unusual country rate.

Bunna Cafe, Brooklyn bottle: pours pale hold with a white head. Aroma is grainy corn grain. Tastes and smells like a cheap lager. I really prederred most of the other Ethiopian beers that I have had.

Also not bad, but not as good as Hebesha or Harar. So many choices in Ethiopia and they’re all the same...

Bottle from CBC Internet, Addis airport. Clear amber body, no head. Aroma of caramel and grain. Flavour of sour malts, pear, metal and sweet malts. Thin body with a watery texture. Lively fizz. Unbalanced and a bit skunky.

Bottle from Beers’n’more. Another country off the list... Some artificial sweetness, some pine, quite bitter and strong for an amber. Odd foam, a bit soapy. Not watery, but rather a bit too much of everything.

(Bottle) Clear golden with little head. Malt and grain aroma with hint of leather. Some body and modest carbonation. Taste starts with some sweetness, becomes watery in mid palate and develops a little bitterness in finish. Definitely drinkable but not great.

Bottle shared at the chriso Easter 2015 tasting - London. Big thanks to Countryman, aka Daniel. Pours clear amber with a frothy off-white head. The nose is a little papery, with nips of caramel and berries. Medium sweet flavor with more paper, light chili, dry caramel, bread. Light bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish with more toasted bread. Eh, OK.
