Bottle - Light hoppy dark caramel. Slight barrel and vinous notes. Clear copper with a rich beige head. Lots of caramel and orange with a rich body and only a bit of booze. This is a great beginner Barley Wine. Subtle and mellow with nothing to extreme. Of course this is also the issue with this beer, a bit light and boring. More of an english style, so the description is a bit misleading.

Can. Pours a clear deep reddish amber with a near white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a large bread note with a bit of toffee and backing and a touch of biscuit. Flavor is more balanced with toffee, bread and nuttiness as well as just as hint of a grass note.

Pour is a black with a large white head. Aroma is a nice chocolate fudgy malt. Flavor is again a decent chocolate malt with a decent char black malt. After the swallow that nice burnt malt is left on the tongue. This was a tasty porter and way better than this brewers pale ale I just had.

Pour is a clear copper with a large white head. Aroma is sweet malt and that is not even that strong. Flavor is more caramel malt then anything else with hops no where in the picture. This was bland, utterly flavorless and down right poor.

The appearance was a orange colored body mostly clear with a one finger white foamy head that rises and falls fairly quickly - it takes about twenty seconds to settle into the body, slightly thick foamy lacing clings to the sides of the pint glass.
The smell has some strong malts up front, but a good amount of citrusy hops come out to play.
The taste is a balanced sweet citrus/malty flavoring with a slightly buttery aftertaste, and a sweet dry finish.
On the palate, its about a light to medium, somewhat sessionable, and seems to get a bit oily here and there on the tongue and mouth. Carbonation is good for the style and for me.
Overall, I say this is a good AIPA, though close to an EIPA, might not necessarily seek it out right away, but would welcome it again.

Gushing even from a can. Not nice! The beer is dark golden in the glass, floral nose. The beginning is smooth, a bit sharp and fruity due to the saison-yeast. The mainpart is peppery, fresh, refreshing and dry. In the aftertaste smooth, saison-peppery and yeasty.

Purchased in six pack form at Spec’s in Austin, TX; enjoyed after a great day gallivanting around the city. Appearance is a rich, thick black with a nice tan head that curdles ala Guinness, pretty cool to see. Aroma is huge on the bitter coffee notes, with notes of oatmeal, chocolate malt, very subtle lactose. Taste goes down lightly bitter, rich in chocolate and coffee, very thick, definite dessert brew. I’m really enjoying this one, nothing too overpowering but still potent.

Bottle thanks to Chow. Pours a cloudy orange with paperthin white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is funk, oak, and booze. Medium mouthfeel with diacytyl and candy sugar. Meh

Thanks to StefanSD for this can! Roasted coffee-nose, slightly malty. The beer starts roasted-intense, Espresso, dark roasted malt. But still easy to drink. The aftertaste is long, coffee-intense, malty. Nicely bitter in the aftertaste, round and balanced.

Pour is a hazy yellow with a average white head. Aroma is yeasty esters and a bit of citrus tartness. Flavor is more of the yeast esters with a bit of lemon grass and dull grain. It’s decent. You can tell they used a good yeast strain but it’s a bit thin around the edges, although the lacing really sticks to the side of the glass. A starter saison maybe?
