Description
Sea Cider is a farm-based cidery located on the Saanich Peninsula just minutes from Victoria, on Vancouver Island. Our ten-acre farm is home to over 1,300 apple trees, made up of over 50 varieties of heritage apples.

Sea Cider opened its farm gate for business in 2007 when owner Kristen Jordan purchased the property with a vision of creating an organic farm and orchard and producing traditional fermented artisan ciders. Since then, we’ve grown to an annual cider production of over 7,000 cases and growing. We continue to pride ourselves on crafting traditionally fermented ciders from organically grown apples, and our award-winning cider is now available throughout B.C., Alberta, Manitoba, Washington State, Illinois, and Oregon.

Aroma of sweet tart apples, light floral honey notes, and some slight sweet pears too. Solid mouth feel, and good carb. Tart finish, apples skins and fresh apple flesh. Nice stuff.

Pale yellow, tart, appley, sweet, seems on the nose like it’ll have complexity but then it’s just sweet.

Bottle sampled at BC Cider Fest 2024, pours a clear blonde, no head. Aroma brings out light champagne-like effervescence and crisp apple skins. Flavour is crisp, with dry apple skins, light champagne notes, and some gentle funk. Nicely crafted, with a dry, lively finish. Good.

A pour from 375ml bottle (thanks, Josh!) @ 🏡. Appearance: clear copper. Aroma: honey, some berries. Taste: very tannic, ascorbic notes, bold, astringent. Overall: interesting, but way behind the good ice ciders.

Pale, just slightly greenish. Appley, cinnamony aroma. On the palate, apple, cinnamon and nutmeg. Balanced, moderate acidity and a touch of alcohol. Not bad.

Dark reddish-brown. Actually a nice fiery colour. No head, of course. Pours still, of course. Unexpected aroma, fruity, but as much plum as apple, a little bit phenolic, sort of odd. Seems like it has a touch of heat, light apple, feels mellow. Not much acidity or tannin, but I wouldn't say this has rich sweetness either. Just sweetness, without depth but also not empty, and the alcohol rolls through the finish in almost a scrumpyish way. This is fitting into an odd pocket of dessert cider. I am not sure I know what to make of it.

Poured from 375mL bottle @ Oakes' Chinese lookout. Clear dark ruby red with no head. A bit boozy, crab apple, very feint toffee notes. Like most of Sea Cider's ice ciders, the booze is a bit unbalanced. Okay.
