Can thanks to Sarah! Pours a clear yellow with a white head that dissipates completely. Aroma combines flora and grass with light fruits and light grains backing. Flavor has light grains and grass with light fruits and flora backing.

Dangerous pint, big, sticky, and juicy like a good TIPA should be, but lacking the caustic alcohol burn to remind you how potent a hop bomb you're consuming. Starts with a heavyweight malt sweetness, tons of caramel and toasty grains providing ample padding for the hop onslaught. Yet the hops aren't quite as formidable as you'd expect; solid notes of grapefruit, lemondrops, mango, pine, and berry abound, yet the finish remains more juicy and sweet than vengefully bitter. Pours a pretty gold with orange edges, giving up a brief white head and modest lacing. Nose is orange, caramel, and grain alcohol. Booze never dominates the feel, though; creamy texture has just the right amount of sparkle, enough to keep you from pounding the pint outright. Tasty beer.

Bottle. Mostly clear orange with a white head. Aroma of passion fruit, light citrus. The flavor is well balanced with juicy tropical fruit and firm bitterness to balance. Medium body, alcohol well hidden.

Perfectly acceptable marzen, hitting all the right notes--caramel, toffee, nuts and mild lager esters--without doing anything too remarkable with them. Noble hops add a crisp, floral bitterness to the finish, and the fade grows bready and dry. Pretty orange pour with a beige cap and slight lacing. Subdued nose gives up modest hints of caramel and yeast. Spot-on creamy yet bubbly festbier texture. Not a classic, but drinkable.

Rich, slightly hazy copper and bronze coloured body with a nice, two centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of grass, alcohol, metal, a touch of earthy hops and a good deal of nuts and grainy malts. Medium-bodied; Assertive grassy and very earthy malt at first with some metallic notes, a bit of pungent nutty and caramelised sugar flavours coupled with a lot of grain, bitterness and alcohol with some hop elements and the associated bitterness hitting towards the end. Aftertaste shows more malt than hops with the caramel and grain flavours the strongest. Overall, a decent IPA with definitely more of an English-style character with more malt than hops and more metal and earthy notes than anything floral or fruity. Couple that with the more pungent alcohol and grain flavours near the end without any resounding complexities and you get a decent beer at best from one of my long-standing favourite brewers, which is a touch sad. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Grapevine in Fort Mill, South Carolina on 21-August-2017 for US$1,89 after watching the Eclipse, sampled at home in Washington on 05-September-2017.

Keg at Draft Taproom. Hazy amber, large creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of sweet plum and cherry. Taste is tart cherry, sweet cherry, biscuity malt. Thin. Mediocre.

Draft taproom. Pours orange with a soft white head. Aroma is berry, sweat, vanilla. Slightly sweet smelling. Flavor is tangy berry juice and orange peel, bitter/tart funk, light hay, light earth. Hmmm.

Bottle from Total Wine, South Richmond. Pours red with a small beige head. Aroma is caramel malts, light grasses, light leaves. Flavor is nearly identical. Caramel followed by some leafy bitterness and minor grass. Plain but drinkable.
