Bomber from the Co-Op in Davis, CA. Pours brassy gold with a lot of champagne type bubbles and a slight creamy white head. It has a Belgian yeast/spice aroma. Med body or better. There yeast/spice and some fruity ester. Maybe banana, maybe even pineapple. Heat is not an issue. It’s fruity, somewhat earthy, and by my perception it’s finishing quite dry. Nice to see the brewer doing some more ales.

Bomber from The Co-Op in Davis, CA. Pours gold with a creamy white head. Aroma is moderately flowery. Med body. Flavor is floral, light pittted fruit moving to spicy moving to earthy. Moderate flavors somehow being strong and bitter into the finsh. Nice beer.

Bomber from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours deep gold with a frothy white head. Lots of grass in the aroma. Med body or better. Flavor is somewhat bready, but there’s a lot of grassy hop, so the bitter is in charge. The bitter builds. If it was marginally less bready I’d nominate it for pilsenerdom. Another good beer from Ruhstaller.

Pours pale gold in color. Perfectly clear. Big white head. Excellent lacing and retention, particularly for the style. Good looking beer. The aroma is a mix of a sourdough-ish lager yeast flavor, gentle pale malt and grass/lemon/pine hops, relatively light. Not quite as hoppy as I expected. It’s pretty subdued for a beer that has the name of a hop farm on the label. That said, the hop aroma is quite pleasant. Just a light mix of grass, citrus and pine. The taste is relatively dry. There’s some simple sweetness to it from the pale malt. Light grassy bitterness, particularly in the finish. A little more of that lager yeastiness. It’s a refreshing, light beer with some solid flavor. Mouthfeel is light and fairly crisp. However, relative to the style, there’s some definite body to the beer, just a light creaminess. Tasty enough, but it doesn’t really stand out for me. I’m a tad disappointed that the hops aren’t featured a bit more prominently and contribute a fairly middle of the road flavor. Still, it’s a good beer. I think my expectations were just a bit thrown off by the hop-focused label.

Bomber from Corti Bros. Pours dark, hazy orange amber with a slight beige head. Aroma is distinctly coffee. Med body. Flavor is quite coffee. It’s a bit different, but it works pretty well. Finishing bitter, but I can’t put a hop to it.

Bottle. Pours with a nearly black hued body with a medium lasting tan head. Aromas are nutty, earthy, medium malt, lightly citrusy hops. Flavors are earthy, tannic/astringent, roasted, very bitter (hops but mainly roast), unbalanced. All roasted malt flavor, minimal hop flavor. Really bitter. Hop character muted. A bit of citrus. Lively carbonation, medium bodied.
