On cask at Washington Brewers Cask Festival, pours a hazy orange with a tiny head. Nose brings out citrus hops and bready malt. Flavour is big on the hops, with loads of citrus over top bready malt. Not overly complex but decent.

On cask at Washington Brewers Cask Festival, pours black with a small tan head. Nose brings out lactose, cocoa and candied sugar. Flavour is well-constructed, between lactose and cocoa. Not really getting any rum here. Excellent stuff.

Draft pour at Frankies pizza. Pours a reddish orange color with a somewhat absent aroma. Flavor is a little nutty, with a malt forward taste. Slightly dusty finish. Not bad. Not great. Can’t complain on this one.

Bomber from a Safeway in Lynwood, WA. Pours dark brown with a slight head. Aroma is very lightly malty and spicy. Med body. Flavor is roasty malty, mildly xmas spicy, or maybe it’s hop spice; touch of chocolate. Approaches dry, and is decently bitter. Ok drink.

Draft pour at Frankies pizza. Pours a dark amber color with a short fizzy head. Dark malt aroma with light, sweet fruit. Sweet malt flavor. Almost a grape flavor hidden in there too. Sweet, nutty finish. Decent, very drinkable winter beer. Good stuff.

Draft pour. Pours a fizzy copper color with a lasting head. Really wet bitter hop aroma. I would say I have had this beer more often then any other beer, and there is a simple reason. It’s often available, and it’s really good. Sweet and bitter flavors throughout with a hoppy finish. Enjoyed this one for years. Good stuff.

Draught at Fish Tale Brewpub in Everett
Dark amber color with compact head. Light smoke aroma. Lean flavor of caramel, almost biscuity, with a very interesting wet smoke character; strong bitterness.
Don’t expect a typical Scottish Ale, this is a very good Smoked beer.
