Moncada Brewery
Microbrewery in London Borough of Brent, Greater London, England 🏴
Established in 2011
Closed in 2021
We began Moncada Brewery in the colourful area of Notting Hill. Julio surrounded himself with like-minded craft beer obsessives and became inspired by the neighbourhood – creative, vibrant and hemmed with diversity – and the Notting Hill beer range was born, which makes up our core range today.
Later, in 2017, we moved to Dollis Hill to expand and explore a new locality. A new place marked a new start, and the Blueprint beer series was launched, focusing on experimentation and limited edition releases, with a touch of eccentricity.
Relocated once more in Spring 2018 to the current address.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up at Clissold Wines, Stokey. ours clear gold with a fizzy white head that fades out quickly. Nice tart apricot in the nose, some lemon, peach. Light sweet flavour with assertive acidity, more tart apricot, citrus, lemon candies. Light bodied with delicate, spritzy carbonation. Clean and quenching in the finish, with further brazing acidity, tart candies, tart apricot and lemon, maybe a hint of melon. Fun stuff.

Keg at London Drinker Beer & Cider festival 2018, Kings X, London. A black coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Rich, roasty, malty, vanilla, custard aroma. Tastes quite sweet and rich, roasty, malty, vanilla, custard and some chocolate. Very nice but a half pint was more than enough.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up at Clissold Wines, Stokey. Pours totally clear yellow-gold with a fast-fading, fizzy white head. Lactic aroma, some lemon, hints of wheat. Light sweet flavour, quite acidic, with more lemony tartness, maybe faint hay. Light bodied with spritzy carbonation. Tart and quenching in the finish, with more lemon juice, assertive acidity. Not a lot of grapefruit as such, but plenty of citric bite. Cleansing. Nice one.

Custard 6.5%. On tap at Moncada tasting room Dollis Hill. Black beer lasting tan head. Dark chocolate and roast aroma. Some milkyness. Dark chocolate flavour in mouth. Some dry roast malt on the finish. Tastes like a low abv imperial stout. Very malty. Decent enough.
