Nov 2016. Pours ruby brown from the bottle and leaves an off white head. Aroma is caramel, nuts. Taste is overall sweet with light bitter and sour notes. Body is medium. Drank a lot of these back in the day when it was my favorite Altbier. Good with food or alone. Good stuff. June 2022. Draft at the source from the keg. Much the same as above, but minus the sour note. Hints of ash. Probably a 3.6. Not as good as the Schumacher.

Old rating. On cask at Zum Schlüssel. Smooth caramelly beginning. More depth than the regular Alt, caramel. Brown sugar, not too dry. Lots of fruitiness with a dark caramelly body. Nice stuff, nice balanced between bitter- and sweetness. Nice.
