Wow! A pale lager that actually has some hop aroma and flavour! Grassy, and subtle, with some super solid cereals. The mouth feel is a little fuller than I expected, but the flavour is there. The ultimate lawn mower beer. A great pale lager. This should be in ever bar to convert macro drinkers.

Cask days 2011. The aroma was a punch in the face of spices! Just an overload of cinnamon, cardamon, and cloves. The flavor was another punch, but in the throat. Just a dry assault, loads of cinnamon and cardamon, felt like it was drying my throat as it was going down. Waaaaaay too strong for me.

1L bottle from the LCBO. hazy copper pour, billowy, rocky white head. aroma is all cloves, and bananas, with quite a bit of yeast, and malted wheat. not surprising really, but everything seems to be much bolder than i would have expected. the flavor is all cloves, and wheat, with whisps of banana and bubblegum. the finish is light on the bitterness with a thick malted wheat after taste.

473mL can. Pours black with a beige head. Bourbon, cognac, blackberries, and boozy barley on the nose. Flavour has a really nice mix of boozy flavours: sweetness from the port and cognac and harsher booziness from the cognac and bourbon. The base is very nice as well, full-bodied with a great malt character from the stout and the barley wine. There is also a blackberry/blackcurrant tartness as well. A very well-orchestrated cuvée.

12oz pour at Devil's Elbow. Pours very murky brown with a light beige head. Sweet malts on the nose. Flavour has plenty of barley, some pine, a boozy finish. Not a particularly refined barley wine, but certainly not bad.

(Can) Pours clear golden with no head. Sweet grainy aroma. Light body with restrained carbonation. There’s some sweetness with some rather harsh bitterness. Not very pleasant.

473mL can, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma has plenty of cognac, port barrels, dark dried fruits, and caramel. Flavour is rich, with lots of cognac, port barrels, dark dried fruits, caramel, and some molasses. Lots of port, cognac and dark dried fruits. Lots of nice maltiness and the barrel blend works real well. Very nice.

Tasting at Ryan's, can
Mahogany colour, tan head. Aroma of chocolate covered cherries. Good body, malt, sweetness, some yeast esters, balanced bitterness, and other fruits (could also be the barrels).
Pleasant, but very chaotic.
