Description
Purchased by Tilray in 2022.
Our story started in 1998 with two friends who noticed a lack of fresh beer on Long Island and wanted to lower their bar tabs. We built a brewery on Long Island's South Shore in Patchogue, a tough and humble coastal town.
In 2014, Blue Point partnered with Anheuser-Busch, joining its family of craft brands in The High End business unit. Our operations, brewing and management team continue to be led from Patchogue, N.Y.
In 2019 we opened our new brewery on Patchogue's Main Street. This new facility will not only increase our brewing capacity, but will also lets beer lovers experience the people and place that inspire Blue Point every day. And we're pretty damn proud to be a part of that.

Bottled. An unclear golden beer with a thin lazing off-white head. The flavor has notes of fruit, malt, and cararmel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, straw, and over ripe fruits, leading to a dry finish.

Sample at Ale Wine & Spirits in Powell on 09/09/2011. Bottle courtesy of a traveling friend. The beer pours a clear amber-gold color with a medium thin off-white head that diminishes steadily. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of mild hops and toasted malt. Light to medium body with flavors of bready malt, grassy hops and a touch of fruit. The finish is short and lightly hopped. Pretty average overall.

Bottle: Poured a deep clear bright golden color ale with a nice pure white foamy head with OK retention. Aroma of blueberry syrup and probably some fresh one as well is quite dominant and enjoyable. Taste is a nice mix between some flavourful blueberry and a light sweet grainy malt base. Body is about average with good carbonation. Refreshing and well brewed though a bit too sweet for my taste.

Its a nice floral and citric IPA, more in the range of a 1999 era IPA, not over done nor overhopped. Biscuity malts, bright hop flavors and aromas, balanced finish, medium palate. Very drinkable. Golden amber color. Good every day type IPA.

Tap at Proof. Pours a dark ruby with a small frothy light tan head. Floral hop aroma and earthy malt. Medium mouthfeel with a hop bite upfront and citrus and graprfruit flavor. Smooth finish, a very good black IPA from Blue Point.

Bottle: Poured a clear golden color lager with a n average size foamy head with OK retention. Aroma of light dry cereal notes with some lingering sweetness. Taste is also a mix between some dry generic cereal notes with light lingering sweetness. Body has a somewhat oily texture with medium carbonation. I can’t say I really cared about this one.
