Description
Based on a busy working farm in the picturesque village of Bradfield in the Peak District, Bradfield Brewery have gone from milking 100 cows a day to brewing over 100,000 pints of beer a week! The brewery sprung to life with completion of its first Brew on 26th April 2005 and the brews have carried on flowing ever since.

Trivia: As the family had enjoyed 2 generations of farming at Watt House Farm and not wanting the cows to feel left out, some of the beers are named after breeds of cattle.

Really surprised I've never had this one! Handpull cask at the Red Lion, Bakewell. Light blonde, clear with a decent white head leaving creamy lacing. Hay, butter, light notes of sulphur. Oh dear, its one of 'those' blondes. Buttery taste. Astringency in the aftertaste. Medium body with soft to no carbonation. Not a bit fan if these beers at all but at least this was in good condition.

Bottle picked up at the brewery by Lucky Otter, Bradfield’s number 1 fan. Cheers Mark! Fairly unctuous on the pour. Sits black. Messy lasting soppy beige foam. Nose has fruit cake mix. Demerara sugar. Soft oaky vanilla notes off the barrel. Taste is semi sweet with an oaky dark chocolate bitterness. Super easy drinking throughout. Hint of warmth. Big cocoa bitter finish. Unreal this is the same brewer that bangs out shite like Belgian Blue.

Cask at Calverts Court, Stockport. Pours almost black with a medium sized foamy beige head and good lacing. Vanilla comes through strongly in the aroma alongside some oats and roasted malts. In the mouth it is sweet and smooth (but not excessively so) with a creamy texture. Flavour has vanilla, malts and oats with traces of lactose, cola and liquorice. Some bitterness too which lasts into the slightly dry finish. This is a very enjoyable vanilla stout.
