Description
The Anstee family began supplying the hospitality trade in South Wales with beers, wines and spirits in the early 90’s. The knowledge and community ties established during this time gave us a real desire to see quality Welsh beer back on local bars. So much so we thought we’d brew some ourselves, starting out as the Kite Brewery in 2011. In 2015 and with our beers now winning awards and wider recognition we decided a new name was in order.

Bottle from Morrisons. Pours a clear light golden colour with a medium sized throthy white head. Aromas of citrus fruits, elderflower and floral. Taste is again citrus and floral with a touch of biscuit and honey. Pithy citrus bitterness on the finish. Thinnish body, fair carbonation and smooth slightly oily mouthfeel. Summery thirst quencher. Not bad

Bootle. Amber in colour, with a frothy, white, head. A malty bitter, with some hedgerow fruits, leafy hops, caramel and slightly bready malts, before a moderately bitter finish. Fine.

Bottle. Jet black in colour, with a thin, short-lived, tan head. Aorma of prune, plain chocolate and porridge oats. Sweetish flavour, with rich, vinous fruits, more chocolate and some toasty malts in the finish. Good.

500ml bottle from Pontypool Tesco. Clear copper with a well-appointed off-white collar topping up the glass. Clean, oily palate, crisp with an appealing sweetness. Marmalade hints. Nicely refreshing bitter. Very good.

500ml bottle from Pontypool Tesco, swigged on the terrace at our cottage overlooking the town. Clear gold with a plentiful amount of white foam. Excellent freshly sweet citrus fruit, nicely bitter with a great rounded drinkability. I will concur with Druncanveasey on the wine gum notes. A very drinkable beer overall.
