Medium gold color with long-lasting, thick, white head. Zest aroma, albedo, a bit of pine, wet hay. Dry medium body, low carbonation but creating a nice foam in the mouth. Zest taste, light maltiness, dried fruit in the background. Delicate but distinct bitterness, citrus with albedo.

Can from Asda, Wycombe. Having seen the Tooth & Claw logo I bought this thinking it was a rare (for me) Durham rate. Was pretty aggrieved to find in was Asda-commissioned & therefore counted for West Yorkshire instead. Still, at least it was fairly cheap... and the price is somewhat reflected in the product. It's a clear golden- amber beer with a white head and a light to middling fizz. There's some green grape, melon and coriander seed in there but it's a bit light and rather hidden by the bitterness. There's a slightly odd furriness to the mouthfeel, not sure what that's about. A reasonably crisp finish though. Increase the aroma hops and reduced the bittering ones a tad and this could be quite interesting. As it is though, it's average at best.

440ml can from Asda in Carlisle - jet black with a tan head. Spicy treacle notes, some dark fruit bite. Not what I'd hoped for, but I was warned.

Time capsule beer, with today's news as I drink this hazy in name, only mildly hazy yellow-gold brew including the guilty verdict for two who chopped down the UK's most famous tree, a first Mass for the new Pope & Russia marks their 80th anniversary since Victory in Europe. Feels a little bland despite developing and decent tropical fruit notes in both aroma and taste. Sessionable.

Currently watching the football with Athletic Bilboa giving Manchester United a game in their European tie. Outside the stadium back in Bilbao is a statue of goalkeeping legend Jose Angel Iribar, which I took a photo of last summer. A goal has just gone beyond their current keeper whilst I sip this smooth crisp for strength stout with a mild sweetness, but no real sticky-sweetness. The pudding part here is light at best with a more regular feel in terms of taste. Brown colour.

440ml can.
Pours a hazy orange-gold with wispy white head which fades.
Aroma of soft citrus and tropical notes with a light earthiness although a bit understated hop wise.
This reflects in the flavour; a bit underwhelming for an 8% IPA. Its balanced, has an ok tropical and berry fruitiness with a good grapefruit bitter zest and hop spice but is bland through the middle. Malts don't offer much in flavour to compensate for the lack of hops overall.
Its £3.03 and less if you average out a 4 for price of 3 offer. Cheap as chips but you are left with a well below average DIPA essentially. This was always likely I guess and its not a bad beer ignoring styles and strength.
